Thankfully got ours for March 10th, 4 adults at 9:10 PM! I was getting nervous about it! My dad has trouble standing for long periods of time due to knee/back issues and I really wanted him to be able to enjoy the fireworks show wihtout having to stand in the hub for an hour ahead of time! Thanks for everyone on this thread who keeps it going!

Does anyone know if there are any restrictions to bringing a tripod to take pictures at the dessert party?

I have heard of stories where people put tripods against the railing in prime locations and problems ensued. Perhaps someone can shed more light on this.

Never been in the dessert party (going on march 11th!!), but this is something I'm interested too.
I think that a full size tripod, even without a rule against them, is not welcome in such a crowded place like WDW. It always will take space from other guests, not even counting the high chances of somebody tripping over your very expensive equipment. What I'm going to do, besides getting a very early ADR so I can hopefully get a front line table, is taking a gorillapod with me. And I will try to attach it directly to the rail, using my own space without bothering anybody else. Even if you get lucky enough with your table, you should be able to set it just over the table with a good line of sight of the fireworks. Hopefully anyone can confirm if my plans have any chance of success. My two cents! |

That's why it really doesn't matter if you get a front line table or not...you don't sit at them to watch the show. If I remember correctly, the top railing is a large aluminum cylinder - I don't know anything about a gorillapod, but not sure how you would attach anything to the railing...I have a photo of our family showing the tables and the railing before the show started, but I don't know how to attach to this message....perhaps if someone tells me how, I can submit it. |

I am excited! I saw this thread first thing this morning and was able to book for our anniversary on March 12! It will be me, DH, 5 year old DD, and 1 year old DS. Was $75 for us all. It's our 10th anniversary that day and I have been waiting to book this for months!

At the top right of the thread, right where the posts begin at the top of any page, there is menu that says "thread tools;" click the arrow and one of the options should be "subscribe to thread." It will then give you a page that will ask you how you want to be notified. Choose your option and click add.

Also, the CMs at the podium have a list of tables and who is assigned to what table. If someone is sitting at your table, they'll know and move them. If they don't want to move, security will be called and they will be escorted out. Saw someone try and take a table from someone else (and my chair!) to sit elsewhere. The CMs moved them and when they started to complain, the security threat was brought out. They did move after that.

A lot of people on this forums have reported successfully viewing the fireworks from their very table, without even needing to stand up. Actually I saw pictures of people watching while seated.
About the gorilla, it's a flexible tripod, very portable, specially designed to attach to bars, trees, fences, etc. Take a look in this link |
