I spent the better part of the afternoon pondering the metaphysics of why Mike posted a map of Lamar High School in this thread. I assumed a tuba was involved.

WELCOME Rosemary and Jean!
DH just said we need to start looking at airfares <yeah!>. Pinch me this is actually happening. We have discovered that Southwest does not fly to across the pond so we leaning towards Delta or Lufthansa. Anyone have any suggestions? Now what to do prior to the trip...

I figured it out! In the DISBoards app, you can add an image and right below add image is add location. Your location is determined and then the app inserts a google maps image of the location.

I don't have the opportunity to use Delta that often, but I used them for the Viva Italia trip last May. I thought they were very good, I paid the extra $80 dollars for premium economy and though it was worth it! Jason |

A couple of weeks ago, the Disney Food Blog had an entry about the food on the Germany ABD. As a fellow foodie, I found it fascinating and thought others may enjoy it as well. It does talk about a couple of the activities, so while not quite a spoiler, it may not be something for those who want everything to be a surprise. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2013/0...isney-germany/

I "glanced" over this blog so I would not spoil any part of the trip. All of the food looks so good.
I cannot wait to try all of the "different" foods that we do not get here.

Even though I can't go with you this time, I'm doing the vicarious version and reading along!
Loved the blog about the food on the trip. I stayed at the Vier Jahreszeiten many years ago and it was fabulous. The breakfasts are memorable. It was opera season when I was there and I would sit in the luxurious lobby in the evening and watch couples sweep through in beautiful gowns and capes on their way to the opera. The building is very old. Our room was fairly small, don't remember anything about the plumbing. At that time, pre-cell phone, if a message came for a guest, a formally dressed staff member would walk through the lobby with the message on a silver tray, looking for the recipient. Very Downton Abbey!

Crap, Chisty just pointed out to me that the Hotel in Munich sits on the equivalent of their Champs-Élysées or Rodeo Drive.

Hopefully someone can anwer my question - What makes Lufthansa stand out from the rest?
I learned the hard way I am unable to listen to Rick Steve's podcasts while working.....they are instant snoozefests. I will have to stick to his tv shows. |
