I want to apologize for not posting lately. Your thread moves so quick I can not keep up BUT I love keeping up with everyone here.

Your Christmas pictures are lovely and I love the one of the kids from '06. I am glad to hear that the girls had a wonderful performance and Rachel had fun at camp. Hearing her rock out to Zeplin must have been great. Soo much talent in your family

I am glad you had a nice, quiet New Years since it is already back to the craziness.

Now I need to head over to finish reading about Lisa's wish trip.

Judy, I hope all your appts went well. Please update us on your father's progress.

Lisa -- safe travels. I wish you a wonderful, healing trip to Haiti.

My day: picked Alexa up from school to be told she was exposed to head lice. Grrrrrr!!!! I did a lot of research and flea combed her hair tonight, and I don't see anything, but I'm still a little paranoid. Tonight was hair wash night but I made her NOT wash it as I know lice prefer clean hair. I'd rather her hair smell a day or two than for her to get lice. Might be hard to see a brown louse on brown hair.

Thank you for the update Tink, it is the first time I wish I texted. Please everyone keep Megan and Lisa in prayer. It is far more than I can comprehend and pray I never have to. Prayers continue for Jonathan, if he isn't better, I WOULD call the MD. Z-packs work as you know 5 additional days later BUT there SHOULD be improvement while on the meds by the fifth day. I hope there has been!

To all of you wonderful folks, THANK YOU for being here. I hope to respond to at least some of you tomorrow, we are back in the swing of things with a vengeance and have had some disappointments and worries ~ van today acting up needs to go in shop, Lisa's c-pap machine needs replacing and insurance doesn't want to. They will tell us AFTER we get the machine if they will pay...um, NO do it now please. More insurance woes in addition, sigh. That is just the tip of the iceberg. On the happier side of things, we got through January 1 with no incidents, Rachel has had TWO great things happen this week, Plans for Graduation and Prom are coming together nicely. So thankfully the good is at least counteracting the troubles.! I hope your New Year is off to a great start!

Andrea, Get some Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner and give it a try. I hope Alexa doesn't get lice!

Oh Judy, I can so relate to the insurance crap! I have some bonding on my teeth that I needed after braces and the glue is apparently discolored. To have it replaced it's $500. Insurance might pay for it all. Insurance might pay for none of it. Needless to say, it's not getting done because I can't risk it right now. Thankfully mine is cosmetic. I know Lisa can't be without her cpap.

I read to get rosemary or mint shampoo but one friend did tell me she heard coconut shampoo may work. The Rosemary I have to get at Ulta for around $20 but apparently Suave makes coconut and I may need to opt for the Suave. I am braiding Alexa's hair today and slathering it with hair wax. I had three nightmares last night over this -- two were that she had lice and one was that I had it and was so infested the lice were crawling on top of other lice on my hair! I know it's not the end of the world if she gets it, but I hear it can be a pain. I worry b/c it's a class of 25 kids and others may have gotten it already and not know, so she could still get it. Also, it's unlikely that every parent has a flea comb lying around like I do to do a thorough inspection.

You're welcome, Judy. I'll let you know next time I hear from her.

I am finally seeing improvement with JJ. He had a very good night last night. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. Please continue, I think we are on the up side!

Oh Andrea, I sure hope she doesn't get lice. Make sure she knows not to share hats, combs, etc at school.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Judy, quick drive by post. Haven't been around a computer much.
I got my grandma some prepared frozen meals that you heat in the oven for Christmas, so no steak but hopefully yummy.
I'm flying home the 11th and then I have to turn around and leave again for . work trip on the 13th. If it wasn't for the work trip I would have been going to California today.

I'd love to see the video of Rachel performance.

Andrea, eek about the lice. I had lice when I probably was about Alexa age, and I had the super long hair, too. It was such a pain. I really hope Alexa dosn't get it. I think my mom used somehthing like kerosene to wash my hair and kill them, but who knows my child mind may have made that up.

I`m keeping everyone in my prayers.

Andrea - when the head lice invade our school the nurse had the kids put their coats and backpacks in big trash bags. If they hang their coats all over each other the lice can migrate.....

Tink called around 6 (sorry I missed you Michelle, I was hearing the shocking price the contractor wants to fix our house). Lisa and Megan have arrived at the orphanage safely, PTL.

ETA: Lisa told me to use Rachel's Facebook Page to go to Be Like Brit and see pics of what is happening and it works! Look how beautiful they are!

Lice do love to crawl, yuck. Thankfully they don't live beyond 24 hours without a host.

Oh I know your Grandma appreciated the meals, praying she is better! I am glad you have more time off, just sorry you didn't get to do your Cali trip! I am telling you we all need jobs at WDW! You well may have had kerosene in your hair, there are all kinds of thoughts on how to rid one of lice. My head has been itching all day. SAFE TRAVELS!

I was on the phone over 4.5 hours today trying to get this resolved. Bottom line, I need the first 254 dollars on Tuesday for the first months rental. I will NOT tell you what I think of BCBS and their polices right now, my head would explode. I am sorry about your teeth, a straight answer is all I want. I was told and I quote"Our doctors aren't gong to waste there time and preauthorize this, you will just have to wait until they bill and see what happens! We rent for the first 13 months then they will pay the balance IF it is covered. They can't say. She has been on bipap for 3+ years, hello...she needs it and her machine isn't working properly.

Suave coconut has been widely touted to work...there is also another product I know, but it is pricey...trying to think of the name, I have it in my saved files....Remember the cetaphil treatment too....and flea combs to look for/get rid of nits are key!

Dad is better, still on the O2 and Walker. He is still deciding NO Chemo, which I understand, he knows it will weaken his body. It is his choice to make though. You really don't want to hear about our appts and the problems on day 5 of the New Year, they are plentiful. I dislike January immensely.

Thank you Ma'am, I wish we had the tranquility of Christmas everyday. Thank you for the nice compliment, I LOVED hearing Rachel and her Talent has opened up a new opportunity for her...
I am glad you had a nice, quiet New Years since it is already back to the craziness.
It feels like two weeks instead of five days!
Now I need to head over to finish reading about Lisa's wish trip.
I saw you were there THANK YOU!!!

Stayed home on New Year's eve and New Years and watched a couple of old Disney movies, So Dear To My Heart, and Song of the South.

Praying for JJ and all others on here! Have a safe trip to Haiti Lisa and Meagan!
I am so glad you are back home and thrilled we got to talk even for a little bit Thursday! I miss you!

Turn off the phones and don't leave the house..my new Tradition for New Years!
I'm debating if I should take JJ to the doc or not today. His chest sounds very congested, but he just finished his zithromycin. I know it has a very long half life and keeps working for days after you stop taking it. So I'm thinking I should give it til Friday? Yesterday was the first he ate meals and didn't just lay around.
Give him a kiss for me!

It will be the six of us that were there last night and possibly my other sister and the niece I usually take (can't seem to ever talk any of my 4 brothers into going). My poor brother-in-law will only have my 5year old nephew for male companionship! It will be the first time for my sister and her family. It isn't the best time finacially to go but we all had a rough 2012 with health issues. The nephew going is the one we almost lost last May after surgery for a birth defect.
What a wonderful celebration of life, I am so happy you will be able to take this trip!

Thanks for the update on Lisa and Megan! They look so happy in the pictures. Praying that this journey will bring much healing to them both!

Judy, hope you can get other people to give you more reasonable bids for your repairs on the house. Sometimes I think it's better to be a renter. There's always something that needs repairing or replacing with each home every 15 years or so.

Tink, so glad that JJ is feeling better!
