30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #23 An Underrated Universal Movie

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #23 An Underrated Universal Movie

Sinbad! I read that this movie didn’t do well at all in the box office. I really liked this movie! I mean, who wouldn’t like a cartoon character who bears a striking resemblance to the hottie who voices him, Brad Pitt? I liked the story and I really liked the character Eris. It’s been a while since I have seen it, but I am hoping to find it so that the kids and I can do a movie night! Of course, since the movie is underrated, there aren’t any memes for it. So, would anyone mind if we just soaked in Brad Pitt’s beauty? I’m not hearing any objections!

Oh, what the heck. One more:

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #25 A Universal Movie that Makes You Cry

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #25 A Universal Movie that Makes You Cry

This brings us back to Harry Potter! Every single one of those movies – from Prisoner of Azkaban to Deathly Hallows Part 2 – has reduced me to tears. But now that I have read the books multiple times and seen the movies multiple times, the first two movies have more meaning and they make me cry too!!! “You’re a wizard, Harry.” OMG I can’t take it! He had no idea how much those four little words were going to change his life! Poor, sweet Harry! OK, I know. I need to calm down

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #26 Favorite Scene from Your Favorite Universal Movie

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #26 Favorite Scene from Your Favorite Universal Movie

I have so many favorite scenes from Shrek that it’s hard to pick just one! One of my favorites is the part when Shrek and Donkey enter Duloc and they are greeted with the little music box that tells them the rules and then takes their picture! I love it because it pokes fun at Disney on so many levels! Then, Donkey says, “I want to do that again!” One of my favorite lines from the song is, “Please keep off of the grass, shine your shoes…”

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #27 Saddest Death in a Universal Movie

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #27 Saddest Death in a Universal Movie

By far, it was when Snape passed away! I cried like a baby when I read it in the book. I actually wanted them to save Snape in the movie! I knew that wasn’t going to happen, but I didn’t want to see him pass away again! It was so painful! When Harry was able to see Snape’s memories, I just about lost it! It was so moving.

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #28 Favorite Quote in a Universal Movie

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #28 Favorite Quote in a Universal Movie

I know you all are sick of hearing about Harry Potter. Sorry, but it has so many great quotes that it is hard to choose just one. One of my favorite scenes in Prisoner of Azkaban is at the beginning of the movie when Professor Dumbledore is making his speech for the beginning of the school year. He was somewhat gruff in his speech, but he ended it with this quote that smoothed out tone and attempted to make the students feel more optimistic:

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #29 Favorite Universal Theme Park

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #29 Favorite Universal Theme Park

I really can’t answer this fairly, since I haven’t been to UO in 20 years or so, but I have a strong suspicion about what my favorite park will be!

No keep em coming. Love your 'best things' I just wish I had time to do more than read what you're coming up with.
Yes I was even sadder to see Snape die than Albus D.
I also was very sad to see Fred die, heartbreaking.

I’m glad you like them! I know not everyone is as Potter-obsessed as I am! Oh yeah, Fred dying was a shock when I read the book and – even though I knew it was coming in the movie – it was a blow to see him die on screen! So incredibly sad!

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #30 Favorite Universal Theme Park Attraction or Ride

30 Day Universal Challenge: Day #30 Favorite Universal Theme Park Attraction or Ride

Again, I have no idea what my favorite will be since this will be my first time going in about 20 years, but I am fairly certain it will be a WWoHP ride. My best guess is that it will be either Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or Flight of the Hippogriff!

We went to universal a few years ago when the kids were ten and eleven and they loved it. Mummy Returns was by far their favorite. They also liked the Simpsons ride, but it gave my husband a headache so the kids and I ride it in the morning before he woke up. Other favorites were Shrek and of course ET. As for IA hulk, Spiderman, poseidons were the best, but there was no HP yet.

and thanks for your input! I can’t wait to try out all of those rides and I know my kids will have fun too!

I'm going to jump in and say hello! We just last night decided to drop WDW this year in favor of a Universal/Seaworld vacation. With a sprinkling of HHN thrown in for good measure. We went to US/IOA in 2000 and went back to IOA in 2003. IOA was hands down our most favorite park of all the parks we hit including the WDW parks. So I'm still not really sure how we got sucked into spending our last few vacations just at WDW.. But no matter, this year we're shaking the mouse off our feet and are heading to the dark side!! I'm excited to be going but since it's been so long for us it's just like starting over brand new. Good thing I like to research and plan because I've got a lot of it to do. Anyhow, just wanted to say hello and let you know that I'm following along and learning with you.

It’s great to have you here! Research and planning are some of the best parts of a vacation! I’ve read a little about HHN, so I would really like to do that one day, too!

Happy New Year, everyone! I’m sorry I have been MIA from the boards, but thank you for the Christmas and the New Year’s wishes on my PTRs! Christmas/New Year’s has been busy for me at home and at work, but I hope to update you guys soon! Any downtime that I had at home was spent watching Doctor Who. Yes, I am really into that show now! I am only on the beginning of Season Three, so no spoilers! I blame Pinterest for this new obsession of mine! So many people pinned Doctor Who related stuff that I became curious! Pinterest and the DIS are my two guilty pleasures! So I’ve got to get back to updating my PTRs! I have craft projects piling up and movie nights to do! Oh, and there is the actual planning! I have just over a month until I make my ADRs, and I want to have my dining plans for UO situated by that time, too. Lots to do! Hopefully, it’ll make time fly until my vacation!
