VGC points waitlist through

Just off the phone from our guide. So excited as we have only been on the waitlist for a month. We thought it would take much longer.

I got a call today too that our waitlist form 80pts for a Feb use year came through too. I love that we are getting those extra 80 pts to bank right away into 13'. The irony is that I we just went into ROFR for a SSR contract on monday thinking that it would be a while til these came through. Oh well his and hers christmas gifts!!

I was so surprised I forgot to ask about use year. I assume it will be June the same as our BCV contract. We only wanted 75 points as we will probably only use them one year in three.

How long were you on the waitlist?

We got on the wait list at the beginning of August. We only got 80 too as we plan on banking and borrowing them too. Our guide was really surprised that they became available so quickly. I checked and the points are already loaded into my account and I have not even gotten the paperwork. They charged my credit card so I guess that all that matters to them.

Wow - just checked dvcmember.com and our 2012 points are also loaded already even though I only got off the phone with our guide at 6pm UK time yesterday. No money has yet changed hands and docs will be Fedexed to us here in the UK.
Amazed and delighted at how quickly Disney have moved on this as we only went on the waiting list on October 18th. Perhaps they have end of month sales deadlines to meet.

I have no idea how the system works. Could it perhaps have something to do with use years? Ours is June.

That's what I'm thinking...no one who has March use year is selling Can't say I blame them.

We waited 8 months starting in April to get Dec UY points (our first contract.) Deal still hasn't closed yet, but we're finding it really tough to get reservations to use the points at VGC or Aulani. Seems that everyone books the first second their window opens (or some other magical strategy) leaving us newbies out in the cold.

Two issues you're running into. First VGC is very small, so you typically have to pounce on reservations early in the 11-month window to get exactly what you want. The good news is that you've won half the battle by owning there.

For Aulani, there just hasn't been very much inventory declared for DVC, so there are a small number of units that can be reserved via points. Just keep trying as soon as those windows open!
