Is there still an issue with Security at Bonnet Creek

We have been to Wyhdam's Bonnet Creek serveral times. The last trip was in June of 2010.

Each of our previous 3 tips there were issues with security. I grew very tired of getting 2 and 3 pizza advertisements slipped under my door EVERY NIGHT!

How does a gated resort have such a security issues as to let roaming pizza boys run ammuck on every floor.

I complained each time but nothing was ever done.

We are going back to Bonnet Creek This March, and I was just curious to see if this is still an issue.

Other than that, I have no issue with this resort. For an "off property", "non disney" hotel. Its about as good as it gets, and i have tried a lot of them.

all the resorts have had trouble with these things - even Disney and Marriott - D

they were quicker than Wyndham to tell their guests that these were a ripe-off and not to use them.

but to me that is not a big deal - now if guests were reporting things stolen from their villa - that would be a big deal and security would definitely be blamed.

Exactly so. We had a couple slipped under our door at Beach Club Villas a few weeks ago.

I have never had it at a disney property, and only one time at a Marriott.

For some reason it just bothers me. I guess I will just have to let it go. my wife says i let the littlest things bother me, yet i have the great abillity to overlook other things that set many people off. i guess she is right.

thanks for the replies.

I actually saw 2 guys doing it at the BWV one time. First, they looked like hotel guests (college aged guys dressed pretty decently). Second, they were VERY quick, walking along at a good pace without stopping while sliding the flyers under the door. After seeing them I could understand how they go unnoticed.

I think I got 1 flyer during my two week stay at Cypress Palms. Doesn't bother me, just one more thing to toss in the garbage.

Disney and Marriott have asked that if you see these guys to call security immediately!

have not seem Wyndham policy on this.

We spent 14 nights at WBC in October. We had one flier for a pizza place our whole visit. On the phone it lists only certain pizza places they "allow" delivery from, and that flier wasn't from one of those places.

We had at least 3 during a 10 night stay at the Poly. I was surprised.

And honestly, the "gate" at WBC is a joke. Most nights it was open and we rarely had to swipe our card coming in. My brother and my mom's BFF both came to visit us and they never asked who they were coming to see, how long they'd be there, gave them a pass or anything, just breezed them right through.

I wonder if this is the reason:

In other words, rather than try to prevent individuals from distributing fliers (which is probably impossible), they instead convince the guests to never call the number on one of them. If the guests don't call the numbers on the fliers, there is no reason to pay someone to distribute them there, and it would be more profitable to distribute them somewhere else instead.

That's pretty smart.

I think that the main use of the gate is to stop cars and allow the guard to take down license plates so non-resort guests don't park there all day and take the shuttle to the theme parks.

On not so busy days they don't bother checking.

We were there for a week in Oct. We always had to use the key to open the gate, it was never left open at times we were going through.

We did not have any fliers under our door either. However one night, hours after I'd fallen asleep I woke up to a pounding noise. Thought someone was knocking on a neighbors door. Tried to ignore it for what seemed like quite awhile. Then DH woke up (and he's a heavy sleeper) and grumbles at me that someone is knocking on our door - and I respond no of course not it's the neighbors door. More minutes pass and finally I give up and get out of bed and it was a pizza delivery guy banging on OUR door! Obviously he had the wrong room but he wasn't giving up until someone answered I guess! The worse part is the people down the hall (who I assume were the ones who actually ordered the pizza) were begging him to come down and give it to them and he wouldn't budge until I opened the door and told him it wasn't us. He looked very confused as I quickly shut the door!
