I would love your opinion on Scotch® ATG 714 Adhesive Applicator, 1/4 in wide rolls
Does anyone use a Scotch® ATG 714 Adhesive Applicator, 1/4 in wide rolls? I was considering buying this but when I went and saw how large it actually was I wasn't sure if it would be to bulky to use? I love the concept. I would love your opinion. I would welcome advise on other brands too.

love it but buy the tape refills on-line & not at JoAnn's or Micheal's - I used the Tape Depot (buy alot at a time saves even more money) I find I"m adding more stripes since it is so easy to use

I don't know how I lived without it. It's invaluable. I get my refills at Find Tape or Tape Depot...whoever has the best price at the time.

Thank you! I went today and I actually took one out of the box and it seemed so big. It scared me off. I have seen them used in videos and they handle them so easy. I feel better hearing for you both. Would you post a link to the tape for me. I looked on the Tape Depot but couldn't find which one I needed. I typed in the type of gun but it said call the 1 800 number. In a private message would be fine if it goes against the link rule. Thank you.

I have "2" of these tape guns. One for acid-free and one for regular (i.e. card-making).
I love-love-love this gun! (And - at some point - my DD just better get her own... )

I love my ATG, don't know how I got along without it! I only buy refills when I have a 30% coupon from Archiver's, or a 40% off from Michael's or JoAnn's. That means that some weeks I go from store to store and stockpile if I have enough coupons.

Thank you to everyone for all your help. I went and bought the breast cancer awareness Pink one. I am so excited I got it at Michael's using the ACMoore 55% special 2 day only coupon and got it for $ 20.52. A cool tool and at a bargain to boot. Can't wait to use it.

I use 1/4" in my ATG for cardmaking & it is quite sufficient. Does the 1/2" refills cost more? Then I would stick with the 1/4" but I've never needed more adhesive when using 1/4". It really difficult to unstick if you ever try to.
I bought something like 10 rolls when a group of use from Operation Write Home went in on a bulk purchase together to get best price possible. I should have bought even more as I am using it up fast donating cards. |

Thanks for all the information on the ATG. My son-in-law works for 3M where they make the tape, so I decided to put the ATG on my Christmas list. I looked at it at Michael's, and it does look pretty big, but I think I could get used to it pretty easily. Hope it lands under my Christmas tree.

A tip for those of you who have an M's close by - for the last few months I have been going with my coupons to purchase the acid free $9.99 box of refills for my ATG and every time I am crestfallen as they have been completely out. I also checked J's the other day out of desperation. SO, with this last trip, all adhesives were 40% on sale. I finally asked a manager about the refills, and she told me that I could special order them AT THE SALE PRICE! So I put an order in for a 1/2 dozen at $5.99 apiece, no shipping charges to pay. And I will continue to do so as I see sales in the future. It takes a few weeks to come in, but is definitely worth the slight inconvenience. I should be picking up my order on Saturday or Sunday so I will update if I am not 100% happy with this. The interesting comment from the manager was that they simply cannot keep these in stock; every time an order comes in it's out the door in 24 hours, so doing a special order is a great option!

What a great tip about ordering it!
I love my ATG tape. yes, I get ribbed about how big it is at Crops, but I don't care... I can find it beneath my stuff, and I don't even notice the size. |

Have only had mine about 2 months and I'm not sure how I lived without it. Need to order some bulk tape, but not with Christmas coming. (and I'm not sure I could use a whole case of it anyway
) For now I'm using Michael's coupons and getting them there.
