meeting folks form dis boards...in the REAL "WORLD"
I am curious ....
who has met folks from the dis board and met up at the WORLD to introduce themselves, hang out for lunch, fall in love, etc etc??? I though it would be nice to put a face with a user name, but then again, maybe I want to keep it that way.... We are a family...and thought it would be neat to meet other DIZ enthusiasts...

I have. I did a solo trip several years ago, and a group if DIS'ers met for dinner a few times. It was great to meet folks and do some meals that otherwise would be awkward solo. We met at O'Hanas one night and CP another.
Unfortunately right after that trip my life turned upside down foe a while and I didn't get back to the boards so never kept in touch with anyone. Another trip we hooked up with some other DIS'ers to share a Wishes cruise. That also worked out very well. At we even got to be part of the the lady who organized it being proposed to on the cruise. |

I have met multiple Disers in the real world. I have met a few in Disney itself and some I have seen in real world settings...I even ran into a DISer in the grocery store.

I have met quite a few Disney brides from the DISboards! A lot of us chat on Facebook, text, and even attend each other's weddings.

Well- sort of!
My husband had my car one day- he was in a parking lot here in CT and a woman approached him and asked if he was on DisBoards he told her no but my wife is. The woman must have seen the lime green running mickey on the side of my truck. When my husband came home and told me I asked what her name was? he didn't know... how about her dis name? he didn't know... If you are that woman- hi!!

Smelling like a horse doesn't make you a cavalryman
I'd wear a pair. I might even be able to get Mrs. Tex to wear some I need to provide sufficient background in every post to make sense Join Date: May 2011

Not yet, at least. We wore our lime green Mickey heads religiously, but nobody noticed and we didn't see anyone else sporting them. I think that DISers are such a tiny fraction of the people at WDW on any given day, the only way you'll have a real chance to meet anyone will be by pre-arranged get-togethers. I'm still hoping, though. Maybe next time!

I wondered the same thing at first! As far as I know, the Mickeys are all home made. I made my keychain. If they let you attach a picture, I'd post one but anyway... Mine is a glittery lime green foam Mickey head hanging from a blue ribbon. The ribbon is attached to a keyring and down the one side of the ribbon the letters "DIS" are beaded on it. I know, it sounds childish.... lol My husband thinks I am nuts. Oh well...
