Downsides of buyng resale from the UK?

My hubby and I are seriously looking into buying resale, other than the obvious down sides that apply to everyone (ie, using points elsewhere other than at DVC, which we would never do anyway), what are the other downsides or things we need to be aware of?

I have read that we need to think about banks, who to send the money with, without being charged huge fees.

Are there other things we should be aware of buying from the UK?

Also what about when it comes to selling the DVC? Obviously we wont be doing that for years but are there any downsides when it comes to selling it again years later from a UK owner?
