Food & Wine Sickness

We are annual pass holders and decided to head over to Epcot last night with the kids to hit the Future World rides for a few hours (we live close). The reason is that just my wife and I went to the F&W festivities last week and, while crowded, was not unbearable - especially for the rides.

I know it was a Saturday evening, and the tail end of the F&W, but I was a bit surprised by all the people who were "sick" at Epcot, even in the Future World area. At one point, my wife and I noticed that for every person being "sick" a Disney custodian was standing next to them with cleaning supplies at the ready. There was an army of custodians cleaning up "messes" in various locations. I am no stranger to drinking, but had never witnessed so many uncomfortable people at the F&W festival before. Strange.

That's just ridiculous and gross. Why can't people exercise some restraint and control themselves?

Two years ago we made the mistake of going to the F&WF on a Saturday night in October. OMG, never again! It was like a frat party. Not only were people sick and stumbling all over the place, they also spilled beer and alcohol all over the place so it smelled like a frat party too. And it was so crowded you couldn't avoid the drunken masses.

I really wish there was a way that Disney could control the drinking a bit more. I will never go back on a weekend evening.

We were there last week and everyone seemed fine. We've gone every year for many a year and have never, ever, seen anything like you're describing.

So sorry to hear of your startling experience.

Yup. My wife and I were there last weekend as well (without the kids) and did not see anyone getting over intoxicated. Last night, though, easily double the crowds and much more college-like in atmosphere. Frankly, I do not mind people having fun (even if there are a few who over-do it), but I was a bit taken back by the sheer number of people getting sick. And we both felt bad for the Disney employees - who did not look happy, by the way.

we were there last weekend too and there wasn't anything like that going on. I was looking for it too because of the reports from previous years.

We were there yesterday also. I finally gave up around 7 and went back over to MK. I have been going for years and have never seen anything like it before.

It's too expensive to get properly wasted at Disney.

We just got back from Epcot. Had to leave way over crowded and too many new drunks in the 20s. People were not paying any attention to where they were walking to. And the over abundance of the young population in the San angle in tequila bar was disgusting. To college ladies were so drunk they took to punching each other down below to see who could take it or the next shot. Finally a cast member escorted them out. We will be going back during the week

This is so sad to hear. I know that this is an event geared more towards adults, but my boys and I are coming in toward the end. Sat. the 10th is our first night and I was going to stop by to hit a few booths in the afternoon so we didn't have to do them all on Monday. Now I am really rethinking. I don't want my boys to see a bunch of adults that don't know when to stop.

This is a concern of mine. I'm doing the Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon and have a dinner in Epcot the day after, but as much as I'd like to spend the evening in Epcot, I may have to hop to another park. Will that Sunday be bad, especially with Veterans Day and the last day of Food & Wine the next day?

I only saw half a dozen folks passed out on the grass when I was there last weekend....

I partook in the drinking...but not to that extent...

We were there last night from 5-7. Stepped around 4 piles of puke where CMs were piling on their sawdust and cleaning it up. My husband tried the frozen beer and we ate dinner at Biergarten and headed to MK. It was absolutely obnoxious. Glad we headed to MK because we got a Fantasyland preview, but Epcot seriously was out of control.

These reports alone make me puke without alcohol. I wish Disney could enforce drink responsibly. You could always have some drinks around 1 PM, then hold off until 4:30, etc.
