Cash Reservations
So we are out of points after going to Hawaii this summer (totally worth it by the way!!).
Now we are thinking of a quick 3 day trip around New Year's Eve. Can someone help me understand cash reservations? For example: - are they only good at dvc resorts or can I get a discount at a moderate resort too? - is there different availability for cash reservations than there is for DVC reservations? Meaning if something isn't available for DVC online, does that mean there are no cash reservations either? - do you call member services to access? thanks!

Points rooms and cash rooms are in separate inventories, so it's possible a room for cash will be available. For the member discount, you can only go thorugh member services. But sometimes there are better discounts from public codes or AP discounts through CRO.

If you want a moderate you need to go through CRO. But to book the DVC you can go through MS. We were able to get days at HH and VB with a cash discount.

If you do book a cash reservation thru ms, do you have to be the person staying in that room. Lets just say I had a room thru my points but wanted to get my rate for family to stay in another room, is that possible?
