making stickers?

I am a scrapbooking beginner. I have a ton of Disney scrap stuff that I've picked up on sale, with coupons, etc. I haven't used much of it yet.

My point. I have a Mickey head hole punch, and I want to use it to make reusable stickers for my kids to do a car bingo game on our next trip . Is there such a thing as restickable sticker paper that's not specifically for printers? Or is there a way that I can make my own stickers using some of the cute scrap paper that I already have?

I have grandiose ideas, but the know-how is severely lacking.

There is a glue by Aileen's called tack it over and over that I know can be applied to fabric to make reusable stickers. I am not sure if it makes reusable stickers with paper or not. I do know that after about 40-50 uses my mom needed to reapply the glue to make the item sticky again.

hmmm not that I know of but that doesn't mean it isn't something

if you aren't doing too many maybe lamiated them then put the sticky back velcro - make sure you put all of the same side on each part (so all cards have one & the Mickey heads have the other )

I was thinking that I could use contact paper, but I was afraid that it might be too difficult for the little kids to peel, which would negate the entertainment/time killing factor and replace it with frustrated whining!

I think I might just have to buy stickers. That is fine, because I have seen fairly cheap ones around. Or make them using one of the sticker printing programs, but that is going to use a lot of ink, and I need that to make my iron-ons! I just wanted to be able to use some of the stuff I already had.

Hello, I knew I had used something years ago,so I went to google, then amazon, and put repositionable adhesive into the search engines, and boy, there are plenty of choices. I had used the dots that are listed on Amazon.

I also have way more supplies over the years than actual productions, but maybe after my next retirement? LOL

Thanks so much for this! I wasn't using the correct terminology, and when I did, whoo-hoo, I found exactly what I needed.

I am going to buy the Xyron Create-a-Sticker machine. It's pretty cheap, and it comes with a permanent adhesive cartridge, but also has a repositionable cartridge. This little gadget makes me want to bust out all of my scrap supplies and get to work! It might not work for my bingo game purposes, but if it doesn't, I can always use it for scrapbooking. I'll let you know how it turns out!

hmmm better double check that - I believe it is "Initially" repositionalbe which I use in my scrapbooks sometimes - that way you can adust but is struck after awhile

I was afraid of that, but I figured that even if it isn't truly repositionable, I could at least use it for my scrapbooking.

But, I did a google search for reviews of the repositionable version, and I actually found a disboards post from a few years ago and apparently it is repostionable up to days later. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2084708 A few folks allude to the repositionability on amazon, but our fellow diser tested it and it seems to be true.

I have a suggestion. If you get the create a sticker or Xyron x, put all your mickey heads 'through' it and leave them on the strip. Cut each kid a strip with the same number of heads on it. Then they need only peel and stick.

Laminate the bingo cards, if you wish to reuse them - the heads will scrape off. The heads won't be reusable, but the cards will. If you don't care if the cards are reusable, then skip the lamination.

When I'm making stickers, I don't even use the 'machine' - I just roll out a piece of the X refill on my counter and place my punchies on it in the most efficient arrangement to cover as much of the adhesive as possible. Then I unroll a strip of the clear material over the top and smooth it down between the pieces as much as possible to gather stray adhesive.

You can get way more punchies on the same size adhesive strip this way, which isn't possible when feeding them down the X.

Very good suggestions. I was thinking that there would be a lot of wasted sticker tape when using the machine the "right" way. I was already planning on laminating the bingo boards, but I was hoping that I might be able to get at least 2 uses out of the stickers. Sounds like it might not work. I just got the stuff today, so I hope to get to play with it tonight!
