Something Special

I want to do something Special for my mom this upcoming Disney Trip to "Surprise" her. What are somethings I can order or get for her before hand to be "delievered" either after dinner or to the room when we get back to the room at night?

It's just a mother (50+) and daughter (26) trip.

I have never used them before but I have seen some really cute gift baskets. One lady I saw goes and buys whatever you want from downtown Disney and then puts a basket together. I am thinking about it myself for my mother.

What does she like?

Wine and cheese?
Flowers?
Chocolate?
Scrapbooking?

You could make a package yourself and ship it to the hotel and talk to them about delivering it when you are out.

How about mother/daughter shirts to wear on your trip? Check out the section of this site called "Creative DISigns" Fabulous people on this site can create a custom design for you and your mom, you can print on iron on transfer paper and just iron it on a shirt. I have made several for my upcoming trip and it is so easy!!

For my BFF when we went for her birthday in August, I ordered stuff off of the Disneystore.com sale/outlet section and had it delivered to our resort. It was there when we checked in, and I just told her I had ordered some stuff for the family as souvenirs. While she was in the shower before dinner, I unpacked it all and had it spread across the bed waiting for her when she came out as a surprise. Got us matching nightshirts, and got her a nice Christmas ornament and few other little odds and ends. She loved it! And it looked like a lot for a very little $$$.

You can always order a cake from your hotel or a bakery. We ordered a cake from Boardwalk Bakery a few years ago and it was awesome! I brought some decorations and made it extra special.

Why don’t you do some scrapbooking thing on your own? It would be very touchy for her.

Check out MemoriesbyBetsy. She's someone that can customize a basket for you with ever you want from the parks, and to my mind there's been alot of good reviews about her in the past on the boards. It might be worth checking out.

My family always goes to Disney with my mom and I have done things to surprise her.
This past August, I surprised her with an Illuminations Cruise, which I found on the dis (there were 6 of us from the dis that all chipped in), I have done Fairy Godmothers (I think that's the name, they surprised her with different things throughout the MK), a horse and carriage ride outside of Wilderness Lodge, etc.

When we went on the Disney Dream last year, I surprised my mother each night or morning, when she went into the shower (we had connecting staterooms). I had purchased wine for when she boarded, Disney Cruiseline key chain, shirt, Disney cruiseline bag, etc. I actually got all that stuff before we went on ebay.

Happy planning and enjoy the vacation with your mom. My mother and I were at BWVs for 9 nights, but were by ourselves for 5 nights before my family came. We had so much fun we are doing our own mother/daughter trip next end of August at BLT.

Happy planning!

My suggestion would be to take her to Pick A Pearl in Japan at Epcot. My daughters and I went there on our trip this past April and it was a really neat experience and then we picked necklaces and had them set there. I love that we have something special to always remember our Disney trip.
