When we went past on the monorail this week the entire front was ripped out still, down to dirt. Sorry, but given what I saw there is no way it will be open when you arrive.

I was so optimistic this summer they would move things along and have it open for Epcot's 30th. I know now that all the pixie dust in all of wdw won't make that happen. We will be there in the end of October and i am sure we won't see it, no worries, i am always looking for a reason to return!

I don't want to be a negative Nellie but I sure hope it's better after the refurb than it was before. I never thought that ride was worth the wait even for fast pass. : (

As a previous poster said Front entrance is totally ripped apart. I would be shocked it it finished before mid-December.

Why do people keep refering to other rides and old refurbs ? Test Track is only getting the entry and que rethemed. The ride itself is not being touched from what I remember reading. So why would there be delays due to ride problems ? That being said we'll be there the week of Dec 2nd so were hoping it's done right on time.

Not exactly right. The track and cars are staying the same but everything wrapped around that track is being changed.

But yes I really don't think you can infer that there will be extra problems because they had trouble getting the bugs worked out on the ride system when it first opened.

The photos and videos I've seen on this site shows major differences in the ride. I hope it opens soon as well but right now it is sure a mess.

The track is the same...the actual speeds and mechanisms could be changed, and basically the entire scenery of the ride is being overhauled...it will seem like a nearly new ride experience most likely.

For comparison, its like the difference from "If you had wings" to "Dreamflight" except the name and sponsorship isn't changing. The track is the same, but the ride experience should be very different.

The name is not changing, but GM's Chevrolet brand will be the presenting sponsor of the attraction.

They are probably not new cars though just either a new paint job or a new body but the same drivetrain.

(August) 2010-present living about 35 minutes from Disney! (every weekend) 2011-first time camping at Fort Wilderness!!!
