We're not 1st floor people.... Thru all our visits (47), we've seen too many guests leave either their sliding room door or main door open which leaves entry to all sorts of critters. And from our experience, third floor is best, no one above you to create noise.... As for elevators, even at POFQ last trip we had 2nd floor rooms, elevator was just down the way... Nothing outlandish of a walk...

Go and have a blast. Is this the first time meeting the future in-laws? Can't think of a better place to do that than at WDW! |

I called to make a payment and added building 4, ground floor as a request. How feasible is that to be honored? I did explain my mom has a slight mobility issue and I'd like to be closer to the bus station.

We've never gotten any of our requests met. However there are lots of people who always get their requests met. But I have to say the CM 's at the front desk have always worked hard to try to get us a room that sort of meets our needs or desires. my advice is to always have a back up plan if you don't get your request. Ex. Ask for building 5 ground floor, or maybe building four, second floor, or even building 2 or 3 main floor - closest to the gift shop would be good. |

This is the first time staying @ a moderate resort. Stayed at POP and All Stars in the past. The value resorts have a dedicated queue for each park. Noticed there is just a general bus stop for all the parks. Is there a CM at the bus stop in the morning helping in the boarding of the buses.

Just got home last night from our first stay at POFQ. We loved it! All of our requests were met (building 4 or 5, top floor) and when we arrived at 10 am our room was ready! We were in room 5338 and it was awesome. We overlooked the courtyard where they have the nightly movies, but the sound never bothered us. We could only hear the loudest noises from "Meet The Robinsons" and "Up". The room was wonderful and our mousekeeper was awesome!
Food court was great...very yummy beignets! We only had an issue with the buses twice. First night, we waited for a DTD bus for 30 minutes. 5 Epcot buses came by in that time period. We couldn't take the boat because it was raining. Monday morning, the MK/DHS stop was a mob scene. Everyone was going to MK...they had to call for a second bus! That is why you don't go to MK on a Monday! We only stopped at the Riverside stops a few times and it was always in the afternoon. We loved the boat to DTD...very relaxing. The captains were all awesome too. We loved seeing the treehouse villas along the river. All of the CM's were lovely too. We loved the greeters/doormen in their festive outfits. The CM from luggage services was great when we needed help yesterday. We got to ride in the golf cart! He was so helpful and nice to talk to. The pool was never crowded and my DD loved the pool games. She even won some prizes! There were always empty chairs too. It was a nice place to relax and cool off. My DS loved the kiddie pool too. It was nice and warm and he liked that he could stand in the water.

I saw the post about the windows at POFQ, there are 12 panes so I know how many decorations to make, can anyone tell me the approx size of the panes or the dimensions of the entire window so that I make sure I have enough lights to bring with me? Thanks in advance.

Jumping in! We returned from CSR yesterday, and booked a BB to POFQ for next September. Port Orleans is our "home resort" (we like both Riverside and French Quarter) and we're looking forward to staying there again!
