driving from chicago - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hi new to this board, just booked our 3rd vacation to Disney for sep 2013, we are going to surprise our kids and arrive on there birthday. I was wondering if any one has drove to Disney World from chicago and how long it took? We flew the last few times and i am trying to save some cash, would rather have more for the parks.

Barry... aka FreezinRafiki has driven from Wisconsin a few times.

Goto the 4th post of the "End of Summer Bash" thread and look at his 2010 and 2009 Trip reports about the drive.

However his minivan has been know to travel at Ludicrous speed... so I'm not sure if a standard transport is capable?

Split our drive from Indy to Orlando into two days of easy driving. Total time about 15 hours. Tack on the extra from Chicago to Indy and you are looking at about 17 - 18 hours...
My best guess anyway.

DW has made the trips a few times with the in laws there avatar from Milwaukee is around 20 hours.

We drive from Hammond, IN which basically as far North and West as you can get in IN (read: south suburb). It takes us about 17.5 hours of drive time.
