Banned From Disney?

Actually, thanks to technology, it is very easy to enforce a ban. There are of course camera at the turnstiles and there is software that can very quickly identify a person and compare it to lists of people (photos). Then the turnstile can deny them or security can be dispatched as needed.

This is my guess as to how they would accomplish this. Also, given that the number of banned guests is probably very low, it is very likely that security can simply remember the faces and then double check if they think they see one of them.

My brother-in-law was kicked out of MK - he was obviously drunk at 11:00 a.m. as he staggered down Main Street, and got a bit obnoxious with some of the CMs. He was not banned for life though, and went to a different park the next day.

I read that book "The Dark Side of Disney". There is a reference in there about his friend getting banned. I can't remember exactly why, I think he tried to sneak into Epcot or something. He tried to go back years later (like 10 or something) and couldn't get in. So they definitely have some way of tracking.

He jumped the turn styles. He had no problem getting into the parks because they had no way of identifying him. It wasn't until he tried to make a reservation that he was denied.

I just finished reading that book on my ipad...very interesting read!

I worked for disney around 10 years ago at blizzard on an internship. There was nothing ever said to us in our morning meetings about people being banned but i have scene a few poeple escorted out of the park for different reasons. The data bases they use are crazy. You have to use your name for almost everything you do in disney when booking your vacation before and during your trip. They would be able to pick up your name if a banned person simpley runs a cc in any area of the property. Its likely that most people will use a debit or cc at least once on their trip. This is probably one of the ways they can detect a person that is banned. I have scene it happen more then once while working there. But who knows for sure...Its one of those disney secretes that no one will ever know for sure!!!


I have never bought a day pass for the parks when there...I am sure you need to show some form of ID...not a 100% certain though!!!

He had to stay with his parents for the rest of the trip. They were informed that their names were being input into the system and they were allowed to travel with Disney cruises again but not the child. Since you have to have a passenger list for cruises this I'm sure is an easy thing to keep track of. Not sure how that would work as far as the parks go.

I worked with a man who was banned after causing a "scene" at EPCOT when he was removed for being drunk. He is now 29 and was 22 when the incident happened. I said to him there was no way they could enforce it, so it showed me by trying to make a reservation on the website for a trip. After he typed his info in, a message came up and said something like "Your request cannot be completed at this time. Please call -------" or some such. It would not let him make a reservation or book a trip.

This guy is a super-nice guy, but he said he was horribly obnoxious when the incident happened, he was arrested for public intoxication, etc....it doesn't seem possible to me that he was a jerk, but he was and he says he is banned.

The conversation came up when I mentioned my trip to him a few months ago...said I was headed to WDW in September and he said, "I'd love to go, but I am banned for life". So it DOES happen.

It can happen, I almost got into a fight once. A couple tried to put there kids where my 2 nephews were sitting during a parade and in between my sis and 8mo nephew that was sleeping in a stroller. When they were told by my sis and mom that they needed to move they were between my sis and nephew in the stroller, my other two nephews were sitting there and they were sitting on out blanket the woman said she wasn't moving her kids and pushed my mom. Then when my dad pushed her away from my mom her husband pushed my dad. The couple were in there 20's and my parents are almost 60 so I was in the middle of it. So even if you aren't there to cause trouble a fight can happen because of other people. Btw the woman got security because my dad pushed her away from my mom? She was on the other side of the street yelling at security the whole parade and after the parade security came over and talked to us. We told them what happened and they said, "we thought she was the problem please try to avoid them the rest of the night and have a good night.

I have read the stories in this thread about people being banned for life. Has anyone heard of any attempts to get the ban lifted?

If it were me I would probably contact Disney to find out if the ban could be lifted if I somehow atoned (appology, public service, special charitable contribution, etc.) for whatever I did. Perhaps get an attorney involved to present the request to Disney.

Photo's are a great idea...so long as the banned person isn't smart enough to lay down some heavy amounts of cash for drastic plastic surgery.
