American Airlines lunch
I may as well keep going tonight since this will get us to the actual WDW Dining part of our trip.
Let's start with a real cocktail pre-flight. May I introduce you to my Bloody Mary! ![]() For this flight segment we were offered hot salted nuts as a starter. Mmmmm….I may or may not have eaten all of Em’s cashews as well. ![]() For our entrees, we were offered a choice of a toasted roast beef sandwich or a southwest chicken salad with creamy cilantro dressing. Em chose the sandwich and I selected the salad. Both choices were served with a bag of pita chips and hummus. For those of us of the drinking age, we were offered a glass of wine – a merlot thanks! Roast Beef Sandwich: ![]() Southwest Chicken Salad: ![]() Both Em and Michael said that the sandwich was not that great – it tasted a bit odd. And it didn't even look like what you would expect to see for a roast beef sandwich. I can't recall what type of bread this had but it didn't help the sandwich. I had the opposite experience with my salad. It was awesome. I wasn’t expecting it to taste so fresh and for the chicken to actually be perfectly cooked seasoned chicken breast strips. I loved the freshness of the cilantro! It was so good. While I was picking the last piece of grated cheese out of the bottom of my bowl, Em and Michael were pushing their half finished sandwich aside. They did serve fresh baked blueberry-white chocolate chunk cookies that were delicious!! I loved the fresh blueberry flavor combined with one of my favorite cookie types - white chocolate!! Oh my, I was so happy with my meal. Fresh Baked Cookie - so yummy! ![]() And one last photo.... I was excited to drink from an actual GLASS for my diet coke: ![]() Next Up: Actual Disney food!!

Joining in! Can't wait for your reviews (not that your AA flight meals weren't just reviewed, but you know what I mean, right?)!

Yay for airline food that isn't completely terrible!
I would be very happy with your lunch, and that cookie sounds fantastic.

Prior to this job I used to work in HR for an airline and we flew standby. If there were seats available in first class we would get an automatic upgrade. I sure miss those days!
I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your meals, drinks and real glassware!

I second that!
And actually on my last flight returning from Orlando, we didn't even get that. ![]() Oh, and I have to ask. Did you get any strange looks for taking pictures of your food and drinks on the plane? Now to any of us, we would have found it perfectly normal, perhaps even mandatory. And in fact, some of us even have our family trained. During our meeting with Linda, my kids asked if they could start eating the cheesecakes or if I needed to take a picture first...which of course, I did.

I have never eaten a meal on an airplane, however, maybe that has something to do with the fact that whenever possible I refuse to fly.
![]() How long was your flight, that you got two yummy meals!! ![]() P.S., loved your photo story!! Awesome!!! |
