So I added no i will not buy re of price.. but if it was say 50$ a point. (cheaper than SSR resale) I would use them somewhere else at 7 month window.. so it was the closest answer.

I would however probably pay 200 for the Poly (as long as they added a hot tub to the resort.)

I'm pretty sure I'm not buying any more points. But if I were to buy more points, Grand Floridian interests me a lot. I've always wanted to stay there, but never could justify the extra money to make it happen. Then, when I bought DVC, I thought I'd book a stay there on points because I was sure that when DS finished school (that happened this past May), I'd have "extra" points and could splurge on a GF stay...of course, now DS is on his way to his first full-time job and I don't have any extra points...I'm completely borrowed out thru 2014, and am even using transferred-in points this year! But we'll see what patterns develop now that DS is in the working world...

Now, tho, w/DVC building at GF, that changes everything. I'm still VERY interested in a GF stay...would hope I could book something at 7 months to try it out prior to making a decision...if I love it as much as I think I will, I might very well buy some points, depending on how hard it is to get in at 7 months...

But I don't see me paying more than $140/point...I'm not sure I'd pay even $140/point...but my last points purchase was at BCV (direct) at $105/point...inflation has "passed me by" and I have sticker shock at the sight of the cost of points (direct) at all the DVCs now...

I'm very disinclined to buy resale...really don't like the restrictions on resale points (and dislike the idea of "having" to rent my points to generate cash to pay cash, which is likely the better financial choice), and HATE the idea of a 3-month "process" w/all that paperwork to make it happen (Disney makes it SO easy!)--besides, it'll be 2-3 years before resale at GF even exists...

So, I probably shouldn't have answered the poll...I'm by no means a "decided buyer"...but I might possibly "be sold." I'm sure interested in GF! I'd probably swallow a much higher points-per-night cost more quickly than a higher buy-in cost-per-point...

DH mentions purchasing GFV every now and then ... and he's not even the crazy Disney person in my family...
But I doubt I would dip our toes in anywhere near $140. That's just cuckooness.
Plus I want to see how the furniture and design they pick this time around.
As much as I like BLT's location, I think whoever approved and picked the furnitures/design at that place should not be allowed to do anymore DVC resort.... EVER!

I would love to own at GF, but as others have said, not at twice what BWV cost us!

I voted $160, but we probably wouldn't buy more that 60 points or so. I'd look at the chart and see how many points the highest point value studio is, during the most popular time, and times it by 2. We plan on moving to FL, and I'd just want enough points to go spend a weekend once a year for our anniversary or holiday.

Have to agree with many here, direct purchases are waaaaay too expensive for DVC right now. This is true for us regardless of the location.

I wish we'd known about resale when we bought AKV a few years ago and we bought in at $97/point.

Many people wrote that they would never buy DVC over $100 pp. When BLT was announced, so many members here said there was no way they were paying $100 pp. Yet somehow DVC sold 5.7 million DVC points at BLT, most in the $130-$140 pp range.

Will VGF sell at $150 pp.......absolutely!

Just remember, there will be a 15-20% point inflation at the newest DVC resort, so the starting price per point is actually a bit skewed.

Disney has been selling over 200,000 points a month this year. So apparently the prices are not too high.

I think you'd be lucky to get a studio for a week at the lowest point time on a 50 point contract.

They'd have to come out with a good incentive for us to buy direct. As much as we love the GF, we've been talking and it's hard to justify paying 2x or more than what we could get additional BWV points on the resale market. We might have to wait for the right GFV resale to come available.

can't justify the cost, will wait for resale. although i've been secretly waiting for this one for quite some time--always talking about "renewing wedding vows". so you know dh will not be buying anytime soon.

If I'm ever inclined to stay there, I'll just make a reservation at 7 months like I do with BLT. No need to spend triple vs. resale. Anyone spending $150 per point on DVC should have their head examined. My opinion only of course.

I think the prices are getting to high for me. I'd much rather add on to my current resorts of BLT or AKV. And since I can't buy either of them for $100 or less direct, I won't be purchasing any points from DVC soon.

Bingo! I think that's where they'll go with this. They may start at a little higher than full price for the last resorts, with a discount to start and then bring up the cost, but I think the big shocker will be the number of points it costs to stay there.
