Just caught up - hope you enjoyed the pies at Celebration

Very hot day today at Celebration. And lots of people and lots of pies. After 3 pieces I'd had more than enough - especially seeing people eat piece after piece after piece! I also prefer savoury to sweet and all the pies were sweet ones.

We did try to walk off at least some of the calories by going round the three lakes. Everyone we met as we walked around was so friendly and they almost all say hello. Even a group of 4 teenagers smiled and said hello - rather different from the UK, sadly.

Late afternoon we spent an hour sitting in the sun by the pool and then went to Old Town to see the entrants for the Saturday Night Car Cruise. It was very busy so we just had a look at all the cars and left before the cruise started.

By this time we were ready for something to eat so went to see if the Texas Roadhouse on the 192 had opened. It had - but it seemed like eveyone else had the same idea. It was heaving - so we abandoned that idea and went to Red Lobster instead, which was ok. Nothing special.

Ha snap, we've been to Pie Festival today, got to agree after a few slices it became quite sickly, but all so tasty. We're also cruising about in a white Mustang!

Heading to Old Town tomorrow I believe there is a special "heroes" cruise to honour the forces!

Thats the only problem with Texas Roadhouse, they get so busy. I could never understand why the other closed, packed everytime we went. Hope you can go back and try again, let us know if its any good, its on my list for July.

Yes, we saw the ads for the heroes cruise, but have plans to go east today. Off to Merritt Island and Port Canaveral.

Nice (and huge!) breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning.

Took a picture. This is just one person's breakfast!

Spent the morning and into early afternoon at Merritt Island. There is a drive-thru nature trail (I kid you not. Only in America, eh?) with an optional walking element to it. We did part of the walk - and saw this gator only a matter of a yard away from us. (Sorry about the quality - took the photo with my Blackberry phone rather than a camera).

Also saw this huge nest....

In the afternoon we went to Port Canaveral and spent a couple of hours at Milliken's Reef watching a live band and then seeing the cruise ships leave port.

Stopped off at Sweet Tomatoes at Crossroads for dinner.

Just deciding what to do tomorrow. Possibly Sea World and Aquatica.

Thanks. It was Momma's Pancake Breakfast.

Had something similar at Denny's today. Will post photo a little later on. Would like to point out that we only eat twice a day over here!
