Viva Italia - 60 days out ABD Package?

We're 62 days from our ABD Viva Italia trip. Are we supposed to expect some kind of package from ABD around the 60 day mark? I recall seeing some posts here mentioning and discussing this.

Yes, you'll get a box of goodies from ABD, but it's more like 45 days out.

WooHoo! Received our 'special' ABD package yesterday at 46 days out. Things are getting so exciting.

I booked Viva Italia as a surprise for my wife last Christmas Eve day while she was out last minute shopping. It's beginning to feel so much more real now with the agonizing snails pace passing of the past 225 days behind us and a mere, assuredly fleeting 45 days ahead till our grand adventure.

Corky, I'd imagine it will come Monday or Tuesday if you didn't receive it today, ut yes, it really got the excitment flowing at this household this week. And btw, check you private messages if you haven't recently. Ciao!

Oh my! Hope our special package comes before we leave for WDW-AKV. The 45day mark is the 29th and we head south a bit before that.

The box of "goodies" has arrived. Can't say that I'm too impressed with the messenger bags. They are way toooooooo big to be practical for carrying around during the day and the quality is mediocre at best.
The backpacks we received on a previous trip were at least a better quality, but again relatively large.
Oh well such is life....

6 weeks from today DH and I will be on the plane heading for JFK to get our connecting flight to Europe. Whether I have an ABD bag with me or not really
isn't important.... We're going to ITALY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, that's about right beachcat. We got the two nice ABD backpacks wrapped in some ABD ribbon, luggage tags, the Pre-Departure Handbook, and two clear One Quart Carry On zip lock bags with explaination. Thought this last item was a little random, but it was a nice reminder of what the Carry On rules are.

Can't wait!

Is this your first ABD trip Jim? We got the backpacks on our first one but for this trip we got oversized messenger bags.
Also, I remember that the we got a bright yellow ABD luggage handle wrapper before and not just paper with elastic string tags.
Yep, we got the baggies too Disney sparred no expense on those - oh well ...

Yes corky, this is our first ABD trip. Kinda nice at least that they track repeat guests and send you something different as opposed to the same thing every time.

The luggage tags are just cheap paper ones (well, tough paper like what a Disney World Annual Pass is made out of) with our names pre-printed on them. They provided 4 tags total for the two of us.

Cannot wait to raise a nice glass of Brunello and cheers La Dolci Vita with you to.

For our trip we didn't get the luggage spotters this year either. Just the paper tags they usually put on after you arrive to write your hotel room numbers on. We had a key chain in our box, which we haven't gotten before - it was attached to the zipper on the backpack. Only got one though - no keychain for DS. We still got the duffle bag upon arrival, but on our past trips it had things in it, like pens, note pad, hand sanitizer, binoculars, Mickey ears luggage tags, cooldana, small hand-held battery operated fan, things like that. This year there was nothing in the duffle bag. I don't know what to do with all that stuff once I get home anyway, but the cooldana would have been useful out in the desert. I should have packed the old ones. They are still in the wrappers.

On our Swiss Alps ABD in July, we got the duffle bag, and it had stainless steel water bottles and ABD pens inside. I really wanted the rubber Mickey-head luggage tags like we had received in the past, but the ABD guides said they no longer give those out - and that they are the most requested item. We were also handed out ABD anti-bacterial wipes on the bus one day, but they didn't have 1 pack for each person, only 1 per family.

Oh, I forgot about the water bottles. We got those too. But no pens. And we got the little Junior Adventurer's activity book too. How quickly I forget.
