Kelly - I hope Shelby feels better soon and that you get some needed rest today.

Bon Voyage!
Bon Voyage babe! Hope you have a great time on the cruise. I want a full report when you get back.....with pictures of course. I've never been on a cruise before. Maybe I should go on an Alaskan cruise......I wouldn't even need to buy airfare. I could just drive to Vancouver and hop on a ship.

Nawwwww, I'd rather go to DLR or WDW or US/IOA......or Hawaii.....or the Caribbean.

I did have a wonderful time with my Mom and Sisters. I shared with Dawn, that I got really teary eyed when we went to the Princess breakfast at Ariel's. We had our picture taken with Ariel at the beginning before we were seated, and they later showed it to us while we were eating. I started to cry, cuz between my Sister's cancer, and my Mom becoming very feeble........I started to think that could be our last picture all together. I think I was already a basket case cuz of my Son's baby, so I just lost it.

And very briefly..........my other son is struggling big time in his marriage. Things I can not go into, but it has been hard to deal with too.

So this old lady is just one big cry baby.

Thanks for listening. I'm sure I have missed out on alot of fun and good things. I willl eventually catch up.

Awwwww Mel, you're one of the sweetest people I know, and I just feel terrible that you and your family is going through such a rough time right now. I am sending lots of wishes, love, and pixie dust your way!

Yeah, remember when I cleaned out the garage? I was fine for four days and then pow. I sprained my back ligaments according to my doctor. I was wearing a soft brace during the day and taking anti-inflammatories but had a nice turn today for the better. I think I can drop the brace tomorrow and I feel like I am on the mend!

Doctor does want me to walk so that's great.
Oh dear! Donna, I didn't know you hurt your back. I hope you're okay.....it sounds like you're getting better now? Poor thing, back injuries are so painful! Here's some hugs and pixie dust for you.

Hello strangers!
It seems like I have not been on forever, and I'm mising my girls!!!!!
Biggest hugs to Mel and everybody else who needs them. I''m sorry that I couldn't read all the way back and catch up on everybody, but I hope you all are having a great Friday. My BFF's daughter is graduating from 8th grade this evening, so we're just prepping for her party today. Then I think we'll take a day off tomorrow and see Up. Sunday is the Sunset Celebration Weekend at the Sunset magazine headquarters in Menlo Park, so we are going to that. Lots of cooking demos, etc, including Jamie from the last Top Chef.

Hello! Hope you all are having a great day I'm so glad it's FINALLY the weekend!! My bf and I are planning to watch Up in 3-D. We tried to watch it last weekend and it sold out, so hopefully this time we will get to see it.

The weather is very fickle here in Los Angeles......it's raining on and off, pours for a few seconds and then is sunny again and then is raining again. I got an e-mail saying that as of today, the Disney Character outlet will open in Camarillo. I hope they have cool stuff.

Hi Ladies! So much going on in here, sick, sad, vacationing, work, school, school ending, sick pups, etc..... Pretty quiet here, just wallowing in self-pity as I realize we are stuck here due to finances & the catch 22 situation with moving: can't rent a place with no job & can't find jobs from 700 miles away. As summer approaches & our original plan of moving August 1 gets closer, I have come to the realization there's no way that will happen unless we win the lottery. Now we're looking at using our tax refund next year to move us down: which means moving mid school year & probably missing the girls trip........ I'm just hating life right now but after reading what other people have been dealing with....I have it pretty good.
My prayers & thoughts are with those who need them!!!!

Yes! So much fun--a friend gave me his box seats and I took a girlfriend of mine--I only found out when I picked her up that it was her birthday! She is a single mom so I was so glad that we did that. We ordered food from the bowl but next time I would probably take my own. Oh we did take wine (and a corkscrew). It turned out to be the last night for that conductor--so it was very emotional. The highlight was a solo by Kristen Chenoweth--the original Glinda on Broadway. She is amazing. It was a fun night.

PS I just saw that Paradise Pier has a fabulous $179 Concierge AP rate on my birthday. If I had 4 of my closest friends splitting it with me, I could almost justify a 2 day trip Sept. 9th
Boy George huh? Now there's a blast from the past!

Well, I know that Dawn is coming out for her birthday with her hubby around then--but probably wouldn't want to share a room so they can "watch tv"--LOL

I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason . . . . . hang in there--your time will come. (Along with Callie and the others who want to make moves)

Hope everyone's having a good Friday--(wait, that didn't come out right). I was at a client's office most of the day then ran by home and discovered the pool heater guys had been here and undone my dog gate that I had put up last week. so I called them and they came out then I realized I smelled gas so they had to fix that. Now I'm going to get a massage--so I'll check in later (since I have no life).

Later gators!

Well, it poured in parts of LA today - but ended up a gorgeous afternoon, with blue skies, fluffy clouds and mild temps.

You are so sweet, thanks for that! I had my first good day today, no pain, didn't wear any brace. I think I've turned a corner - (your pixie dust must have worked )

Hi!

I have a thread on the CB about this (I am ridiculously brave to do that), but no one has the answer yet....have you guys heard the phrase "to be hasselhoffed"???? I looked on urban dictionary, and none of the answers work for the situation.

Basically hubby's temp work computer at his Brand New Job (stress over reason for having to find new job being one reason I've kept to myself) has bit the dust after only 3 days. He took it over to the main Redmond campus for them to do something snazzy to it and get "permissions" on it so he could do his job, and it's toast. (which is just hilarious seeing as how he works at microsoft now...short term contract position with high possibility for contract continuation) It's not his position to fix it, so he has tried to get the IT guys out...they haven't. He called to see what was happening with his request, and the guy told him "oh it looks like you've been hasselhoffed".

Is there a definition that fits this situation, that isn't easily found using google???

We're mystified.

Oh you should! Not that we've found the time for it ever since finding DLR, but it's lovely and beautiful and gorgeous and worth it. We took Amtrak up from Seattle when we went...so much nicer than waiting in a line (even if we could see...hmm, is it Jane that works up in Blaine???) at a border crossing.

CST is awesome awesome stuff that LOOKS like the biggest crock of ____ that ever existed, but it's awesome. Upledger.com should have links to lots of info on the theory.

Basically people who have a "license to touch people" can do it, so you'll generally find it done by chiros and massage therapists.

Even before I adjusted wee E's spine I took him to an LMT who did newborn CST, and not only did it change the shape of his head (funky labor = funky head shape), but it eliminated the bit of "tongue tie" he had that was making my nursing life suck, and not in a good way! He could open his mouth much wider and he seemed less uncomfortable. Brilliant.

When I first had it done, I didn't have to wear my glasses for well over a month (and I was something like 20/400? it was as bad as my eyes ever got...they were stable for years before I had lasik done), and no one asked "are you angry about something" for about 2 months because my face was so so relaxed after the session.

It helps with all sorts of other things too. And it's somewhat similar to the type of chiro I used to do, which was Network Spinal Analysis...they both focus, in different ways, on the cerebral spinal fluid and energy...both can have really good benefits on people with fibro.

If I ever decided to do bodywork again, I'd get my chiro license back (just a matter of a year's worth of cont.ed. classes and a chunk of money), get CST education, and just do CST.

Melody I'm so sorry to hear about the baby. Hugs to everyone.

And to everyone else with health stuff going on, hugs as well!

Hubby finally got a diagnosis (the other reason I was keeping to myself), it's a pituitary growth that's pumping out prolactin (milk-making hormone) and causing his male hormones to be close to zero...very very likely the reason for no subsequent baby, and his endo will likely treat both for the prolactinoma and for the low male hormones, to help speed the latter part up for baby purposes.

It explains SO MUCH from the last few years, and sadly, if any of the MDs and NDs he's seen in the last couple years had *listened to him* and done the bloodwork we begged his endocrinologist to do (it had nothing to do with his blood sugar), this could have been found so much earlier and we might have a whole passle of babies already. We're getting records from those previous "health care providers" to see if anyone saw anything that they passed over... They all ignored his "I think there's something wrong with my 'swimmers'" comments because I'm older than he is, and they figured it was my "fault".

It's a relief to have such a relatively simple diagnosis, especially since it explains just about everything...but it's ridiculously frustrating that it likely could have been caught earlier if the professionals had gone as above and beyond (by listening to him) as his endo has. (if anyone needs an endocrinologist in Seattle, this guy's good)

Maybe the computer is lying on the bathroom floor eating a hamburge while being taped? Or it could be running down the beach in red trunks? Or maybe it went over to Europe to be a rock star?
