Recreating Memories- Surprise Mother & daughter trip
Hi & welcome to my PTR!!!
 Some of you may have read my last PTR/TR from this past December when we took 6 kids under the age of 6 to WDW? If so, hi again and if not, thanks for joining me!!  My name is Kristen (36) and since finding DIS, I have become an official Disney addict. I was on my way on my own but DIS officially pushed me over the edge! As I tell my DH (Todd), there could be worse addictions!! LOL!!  I'm a stay at home Mom to three beautiful boys, Ethan (6), Lucas (4) and Cole (21 mos.) and stay very busy with t-ball, playdates, laundry, cleaning the house, cooking meals, and oh ya, DIS!! I have been to Disney a handful of times, 3-4 times as a child with my parents, sister and family friends, once with my friend when we graduated high school in 1991, on our honeymoon in 2000, Todd & I took our boys for the first time in 9/07 and then again this past December with my BFF, Tracey, and her family for a magical holiday vacation.  Here is a picture from our last trip...we are the family on the left side (with all the boys!!): Speaking of the holidays, when laying in bed on Christmas night with my DH, I said I wish we had a ton of money and we could afford to take Mom to Disney World for her 60th birthday. My sister lives in SC and for the last 10 years, we haven't all been in the same state to have that quality time, so I knew it would mean the world to my Mom. We all have such fond memories as a family going and she hasn't been back in at least 10 years, so he said "look into it"...does he not know what that means for a DIS addict?  So, with my wheels spinning, I did and found a great little package and quickly called my sister in SC to see what she thought. Now, neither of us have a lot of money, we're a one income family with young children, my sister is on a tight budget in SC with her husband but we made it work! We are taking my Mom 9/14-18/09 to POP for an early birthday present!!!! The boys will not be joining me on this trip, my DH is the best husband in the world and is graciously letting me go with my Mom & sister alone for an all girls week in Disney! I'm so looking forward to the quality time with my mother and my sister, it means the world that he is doing this for us.Stay tuned to see our surprise and some pictures of the three girls!! Wooo Hooo!! The PTR has started. Have you checked to see if Free Dining is a better deal for you?? I'm not sure what kind of deal you got...

Introductions and Surprise!
So I told you my sister lives in SC and my Mom & I both live in Massachusetts...well, Jodi (my sis) was up visiting in mid February and we decided since this would be the only time we could surprise Mom, we better do it now while we're all together.
Jodi and her DH were staying at my parents and they "kidnapped" Mom and told her they were taking her to my place, I planned a little lunch for everyone and we surprised Mom with that trip. Here are a few pics of the things we did to surprise her:   the gift bag we put her Disney goodies into:  the goodies inside:      And here is the card, inside we wrote "Happy 60th birthday, Mom, let's recreate memories, we're taking you to WDW!" and it played Wishes. We also included a picture of the 3 of us from our last trip to Disney World together, that of course, Mom cried when she saw and read our note....   And here is the picture of us from Disney world (sometime in the 80s?)  (Jodi, Mom, Me)-- Don't laugh too hard!!  And here is some pictures more recent of us all.....and there aren't even that recent (from my wedding in 2000!), since we all live in different areas, we don't have many pics of us all together, but with this trip, I hope that will change!! (Jodi & I)  and my family (Mom, Dad, me, Jodi)  So there is the surprise! Mom was just thrilled and couldn't get over it....she coudn't believe I could get away from the boys that long, that Todd was willing to take time off from work to watch the kids so I could go, that Jodi could meet us there and that my Dad knew about the whole thing without slipping!! Thanks Dad!! Coming up next...details, details......

Wow Kristen, I can't believe how much you(now) look like your mom(then) in the old photo. Your mom and sis are beautiful just like you and your wedding photos are really pretty. Can't wait for more.

How did you get them to unlock your previous thread?
Looking forward to reading more about your upcoming trip. I am so jealous of the increased traffic over here on the WDW threads. Look at all the peeps you've already got.
