I'm enjoying your report so far--your Liam is ADORABLE! Congratulations on the 2nd baby as well!

I am envious of the fact that you paid for a seat for Liam on the plane. While our plane rides weren't bad, we even had an empty seat in between us, but the car seat would have been golden.

Glad you were able to get the room you wanted! Good thinking on the new carpet/rehabbed room for a baby who is on the floor so much.

Thanks for joining us! I could not have done that flight without a car seat....in hind sight I really think his familiar car seat really help keep him calm.

So I’ve scored the prefect room and we are headed back to our car to get a game plan for our next move. We decided to get lunch then go get our groceries before our room would hopefully be ready. I guessimated that our room would be ready about 2-2:30pm. We decided to go to DTD for lunch at Earl of Sandwich….a favorite of ours. Here’s a tip: look at the time before you decide to go to DTD for lunch on a Sunday with a toddler and a man who hasn’t eaten since the night before! For some reason I had it stuck in my mind that it was like 11:15am….a good time to go to DTD for lunch. There was no way it was 11:15….we never left the airport until 11am! I knew that we wanted the first or second parking lot at DTD (nearest the Marketplace). I forget sometimes that DH can’t read my mind….because as I was thinking that we should turn left into Parking 2 (which is near McDonald’s) he couldn’t hear my silent commands! So we pulled into Parking 1. You would have thought it was the parking lot of the mall the weekend before Christmas….people were circling around in their cars looking for a parking space. It was a madhouse and that was just in the parking lot! It was at this point that I thought to look at the time….12:15pm. I made a quick decision to correct my poor idea to eat at DTD…let’s get out of here and find a fast food place down the road. So that’s what we did…trying to use our GSP to find a McDonald’s….let me just say that I thought there would be a McDonald’s around every corner…there is not! Maybe when you get on International Drive but not where we were. We found a Wendy’s…good, we know Wendy’s….quick and easy. Ha! If I had know what was going to happen next I would have gone for a nice sit down lunch at a Chili’s or something like that, but I didn’t want to waste the time because I knew my guys were hungry. My notes tell me that we were in Wendy’s for an hour…..it felt like 3 hours! I’m the Mom that usually has the kitchen sink with me…but for some reason….maybe because I assumed that we’d be eating shortly, I didn’t bring any crackers or juice in with me for Liam. Amazingly he was very good as we waited for DH to get back with our food. As I was sitting there I noted the slow and poor service…so I accepted in my head that my burger would be wrong and that I would just eat it however it came. Yup….they screwed up my order….but at least I had 30 minutes prior to get over it! Liam ate like a champ. Chicken nuggets and fruit.

Now it’s 1:15pm and we’re off to go grocery shopping. We decided at this point to go to the Super Target that I had written directions for. It may be a bit out of the way but we knew where we were going and we know Target. We were getting tired so I always like to do the familiar so I have to do less thinking!

We got to the Hunter’s Creek Target at about 1:30 and decided to split up…Liam needed to be changed and there was no way in Hades that we were changing him at that Wendy’s so DH took Liam and I headed to the baby section to see if I could replace the tether that I had made for Liam’s sippy cups (remember the one that DH forgot in the car at the airport?) No luck finding one.

I won’t bore you with the whole shopping list but we got bottled soda, water and apple juice. Milk, oj, and breakfast foods. Paper plates, paper towels and dish soap and spray cleaner. Cost me $95, but we saved so much money when we didn’t have to buy drinks in the parks and breakfast.

We were back at CBR by 2:30pm….and I called to see if our room was ready. No. We knew we were in Barbados village, building 13. So we drove the resort a little and then parked near where our room would be. I called again to see if our room was ready. No. We decided to walk by the lake and check out the pool, hoping that Liam would fall asleep in his stroller. I called to check on our room every 15 minutes….thankfully never getting the same CM twice.

I'm guessing it isn't going to be a good time! Great update...I love Wendy's but even that Wendy's would have gotten on my nerves!! I too am going to be bringing my own supplies in the hope of saving me some time and money!! Can't wait to hear more!!

We brought a cheap toaster with us this time so we could toast english muffins and bagels....I don't think I'll go again without one!

sorry about the Wendy's disater, but it sounds like Liam is being a trooper. Your pic's of CBR look wonderful, brings back memories of our stays there.

I forgot to mention in my post with my guessed time of getting in the room......Liam is ADORABLE. I had to smile when I saw that picture of him in the very first post introducing him! He reminds me of my lil' guy!
