Banned From Disney?

Well I know for a fact that Camera could be set up at several locations ( Turnstyles and so forth) that could do face scans and compair quickly to a Database.

Watch the Show Vegas is has it on all the time and where the time line of how fast it takes is not acurit it's still very feasable.

I don't know if they use this but I know it's out there for use.

I think it's more of having them arrested for trespass as stated earlier as an easier corse of action.

I have seen people use kids tickets when the kids are in their teens and they have said nothing about this. You must do something really bad to get booted. They do have fingerprints on tickets now and this could be how they keep people out of the parks.

If those tickets were purchased when the child was under 9 this is Disney policy. They will allow those tickets to be used until gone - regardless of the age of the original ticket holder.

If I had a park hopper with an unused day on it from when I was 8 years old -(ha I wish)- I could trade that in today for 1 adult park admission and go to the park(s) of my choice... and 38 now.

14 and high seems like a ripe combination for doing stupid things. Honestly, I wonder what goes through someones head when they decide to smoke in public? Do they really think that no one else can smell it? It has a pretty distinctive aroma that most people can easily detect.

I work in Law Enforcement and did Security for quite a few years (not WDW) and this is pretty much how it works. If someone is really bad, they might post their pictures for employees to see, etc. That would be for fraud related issues, but your normal people banned are given trespass warnings and than if they are every caught and their names checked in the WDW database of banned persons, they can charge them, even if they didn't steal something or whatever.

Employee recognition is big too, many employees will remember people they encounter that were stealing, etc and call security when the person comes back. This is especially true for locals that might frequent WDW.

As far as the face scanning, yes they are out there, but they are very costly and it isn't worth the expense to run those systems for minor issues. Some of the best Casinos use them to help prevent losses from cheaters, but most casinos will not use them because they are so expensive and just really aren't the most effective use of resources (each face of every patron being run, etc). You have to be careful what is on tv, most show exaggerate the truth of how technology is being used. CSI is the best example, prosecutors are having serious problems with juries that expect all the evidence to be done like it is in CSI, which just doesn't happen.

I'm all for banning real troublemakers, but enforcement is another issue. I don't see how it would be possible to enforce such a ban. And I don't think threatening someone with criminal tresspassing would work either. Disney would have to get some sort of a restraining order and then spend lots of time focusing on finding one individual out of thousands in their parks.

The way it works in our state is if you 1. post a no trespassing sign 2. verbal inform them not to trespass 3. give them written notice not to tresspass you have been duly warned and are subject to arrest.

If this is the case in Florida the letter given them gives them the right to have them arrested. The restraining order would not be necessary.

I don't think there is any practical way to stop them at the gates - I seriously doubt that a photo circulated among CMs would do any good for spotting someone out of thousands a day, possibly not even around the same time.

What I think would really happen is that a person with the no-trespass order takes their chances on going on property. If they end up involved in ANYTHING that results in them having to give their name and its checked, they face instant arrest, on top of whatever other charges might be levied for the new incident. Court assigned penalties would likely be stiffer.

that would be awfull to be banned from disney..and i agree you would have to something truly horrible. I mean theres been reports on the news about people that
take children to WDW and leave them in the park alone while they leave and do there thing...but even thats not so horrible to be banned

That is one expensive day care center!
How young were the children? You could possibly get by with a 14 yr old, maybe, but younger I'm not so sure. I'm sure that child endangerment holds a much greater punishment than not being permitted in the parks. That would be like a get out of jail free card!

This happened a while ago. A cast member was caught shop lifting. He lost his job at our store and was told he would never be admitted to WDW again.

Here is the catch. He owns a large share of DVC. What happens here????

Not to say that stealing isn't wrong, but if your friend was banned indefinitely from WDW for shop lifting that seems quite harsh. What on earth could have been stolen to cause such a punishment?

As for his owning DVC, I have no idea. I suppose that if the circumstances were great enough to warrant expulsion from WDW then maybe they would be forced to sell or rent the points.

Are they banned from ALL of the world or just the parks?

My mom was an ASM for TDS years ago. They discovered another ASM and a lead stealing Disney dollars, tickets, and other items. I don't know the complete details but the courts ordered both of them to pay restitution, they are not allowed w/in a certain distance of any Disney Store and are banned from any Disney park. I imagine that photos of them were distributed but I'm not certain. My mom worked w/ both of them (she was in a different store when it occurred) and was friends w/ one of them so it was a very difficult time when my mom learned of what her friend had done so I have never asked how they enforce it.

The fellow I worked with that had the DVC Shares, it was really stupid. It was when the pin trading at Disney was at its height.

From what I understand he stole some pins at the World of Disney store.
