Newbie here planning way in advance but what is the best day to go Thanksgiving Week
We are DVC owners so we'll be staying onsite at Disney. I have 6 day pass left at WDW that I want to use. We are there from Saturday to Sunday so, 9 nights. We will probably arrive super early on Saturday 6 am flight. So basically Saturday to Saturday are our options. Should we do one or two days? I'm thinking about getting express pass.
With the new FP+ system I'll need to plan far in advance with ADRs and ride reservations at Disney so, that will force me to plan my Universal day. Originally, I was going to wait until we got there to decide on the day based on weather. Plus, should I buy my tickets in advance or at the gate? |

If you are new to Universal, you should definitely plan for two days to see both parks and not having to rush around. Don't purchase the Express Plus passes until you see how long the lines are...they are date specific and non-refundable...you may not need them.
I would go ahead and purchase tickets once you know when you want to go and choose either print at home (print several in case one gets destroyed) or Will Call pick up. Its better to have tickets in hand so you aren't standing in the ticket lines and the admission lines. If you stay away from Thanksgiving weekend the crowds shouldn't be too bad.

Another question, can I buy a one day pass and then, upgrade to a 2 day once we get to the park? I'm thinking we would try it out for a day to see how crowds are before deciding on buying the second day. Thanks...

if you are done with one park, you can upgrade that ticket to a 2 park one day pass also. do this before you leave the park. if you do leave the park, go to guest services outside the park to upgrade.
