Considering Aulani- first trip- how many days?

I would suggest 7 days. Depending on your budget, you could spend all week in Aulani or split stay with a resort at Waikiki. the cost could be up to 50% less for those nights and site seeing to some parts of the island are easier from Waikiki.

Spring Break ‘23 DVC member Trip Report

I am assuming it is not necessary to grab front row pool chairs, but if you need one and as those are limited in quantity, you will need to make the effort. Same thing goes with Luana Lounge. As the space is limited with restroom, there needs to be a reservation system in place to avoid 100...

    Are excursions worth the $$$?

Could do a lot DIY excursions that don’t cost anything. Best ones from our experience are driving around different parts of the island and spending time there. Could make a day each out of North Shore, Waikiki, southeast and east coast (Kailua). Some easy nice hikes, good food and beaches in all...

Thanksgiving Week Genie+ Experience and required mobile ordering so far

We were there this week as well and just returned. Our experiences were similar to yours. Mobile ordering worked pretty well and was a good way to control times into dining rooms at all times. No issues ordering food and finding tables. Genie + was frustrating with lack of availability past the...

Can you actually skip the counter at Alamo or do you need to show your QR code?

We did Alamo at maui and Oahu this summer. Both times, we skipped the counter and went straight to the car. Someone outside checked my name of their list, did a quick QR code check and off we went. We did have to stop at the exit to show Id and credit card. Skip the counter worked for us.

    Flight ID for children

No different id requirements flying to Hawaii than anywhere else in the US. Kids don’t need IDs as long as they are with an adult. Unless things have changed post COVID, which I may not be aware of.

    Minas Fish House Happy Hour

That is strange. I made reservations for 4:30 as a non resort guest by calling reservations last month. I am not sure if they will honor my reservations. Anyways, we have a backup at Longhis at Marriott. This is for our last day dinner. Any reviews on Longhis? The menu to us is more appealing as...

    long lines at Aulani checkin/out

Do they check the QR code for all visitors or those that have a pre-clear bracelet from the airlines get a pass. I would hope they may look to speed-up the process for pre-approved travelers who already did online checkin, but understand if that is still hard to implement at resorts.
