*No longer relevant* (Maxpass/Fastpass: an overview and some strategy)

Like BadPinkTink, my concern is the data cost. I've only had data on my phone overseas once- last September in Singapore, with a local sim card. Usually my hubby has his so I just go along with his (he needs his for work contact still when away) but we didn't end up separating in Singapore, so I...

*No longer relevant* (Maxpass/Fastpass: an overview and some strategy)

I'm getting closer to understanding the Maxpass after this- thanks for so much info. Not visiting until November 2019, so have time to ask about the stuff that confuses me!

I just booked! Going to Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo-update Disneyland Shanghai day 5 - 01/06

Two days in Shanghai Disney should be plenty. We did one full day (no kids) and saw everything I'd planned, and a few more too. I loved it there, and hope you will too. Are you going in September? That's when we were there, and the timing (just after Mid Autumn Festival) was great, with good...

One Day in Shanghai Disney, September '16.

It's been a while since I put anything up here! I've tried to add anything that helps out other travellers, and while I've got very fond memories, not everything is important enough to add to here. I got around 1400 photos from our China holiday, and yes, I print them all up! Took me ages to...

A Whirlwind Trip to Shanghai Disneyland!

I 'recycle' clothes on holiday, too. I'm not there to do washing!! I try to mix my upper and lower clothes so it doesn't look like I've worn the same ones the whole time. Hang them up for an airing and wear again 4 or 5 days later. If someone was rude enough to point it out, I'd just tell them...

The 'I survived SDL's Opening Day' TR!

Try Wolfgang Puck in Disney Town for a decent feed. We had the 'meal for 2' for about 200y (maybe 180y) which had pork and rice, pepperoni pizza, calamari, and a divine slice of vanilla cheesecake. This really is one of the best meals I've ever had anywhere- I've been living on the dream since...

The 'I survived SDL's Opening Day' TR!

Well, I've finally got my photos and journal done. Around 1500 photos, and 20 pages about our whole trip, not just Disney. DH has been away since 3 days after we got back, and I'm waiting for him to get home soon so we can order up 1000 photo sleeves from Jack Ma (ie, AliBaba) to put in binders...

A Whirlwind Trip to Shanghai Disneyland!

Mine is under 'One Day at Shanghai Disney'. Don't ask me to link it- I'm useless at that, but go through my server name and find it there. We just used the hard ticket we were given at TSH. It was just like the keycard, so DH locked them in the safe the day before we went so we wouldn't try to...

A Whirlwind Trip to Shanghai Disneyland!

There are FPs, Magicfor2,- Tron, Peter Pan, Buzz Lightyear, Seven Dwarfs, Winnie the Pooh, Soaring and Roaring Rapids. At busy times, of course, they fill up just like other places, or sometimes they just aren't offered. Just depends on when you're there if you get on or not. I missed Pirates...

Right with you! Tron and Pirates? Deal. Soaring? No deal!

The 'I survived SDL's Opening Day' TR!

Flounder, as you went on the Canoes, you may be able to tell me about them. We thought they were on a cable which slowly towed the canoes along, meaning the 'rowing' by passengers is more for the experience than the necessity. Would that be right? Can't help thinking that with the wrong group...

One Day in Shanghai Disney, September '16.

China is amazing. Disney is the pleasant extra. We've been twice with those cheap trips that pop up Down Under, then stayed on a bit longer. Well worth it.

    Crowd Culture in Shanghai Disneyland

China needs to ban the split-pants for toddlers! I didn't see any of it when we were at Disney, in fact, only once while in China (DH suggested not licking the grass over there!) Once again, I think it will partly die out as the next generation becomes more Westernized (not always good, but this...

The 'I survived SDL's Opening Day' TR!

Thanks, cschaaf, that's much better than what I could figure out! My skills are still better in the old world. One of the uses of teenagers is to help me out when I haven't a clue. (Not a lot of other uses otherwise, except for clearing out the pantry.)

The 'I survived SDL's Opening Day' TR!

I simply put them in an old-fashioned album. I write up what happened each day, then the photos, along with anything that counts as a souvenir (eg, admission tickets), especially as they differ to our local ones. Sounds primitive, but I like being able to just pick it up and look through again...

The 'I survived SDL's Opening Day' TR!

I don't even know where my report is! I have to go through my alerts to trace it. I have it under "One Day In Shanghai Disney, September 16". If you can find it, then explain how I link it (I said I was a dinosaur!) then I'll do it.I thought it was in Disney Trip Reports, but who knows? :crazy...

The 'I survived SDL's Opening Day' TR!

It's a pity Pirates was closed for us. It looks amazing! There's the one to aim for if I get back again. I've done my report in Disney Trip Reports, hope anyone interested can find it. I didn't know where exactly to put it up, and I have trouble finding it myself, so hope it's trackable.

One Day in Shanghai Disney, September '16.

My story isn't necessarily in order. I haven't seen my photos yet, which give me a timeline, but I doubt it makes much difference really. The Once Upon a Time Adventure up through the castle is gorgeous, telling Snow White's story, and the cauldron is amazing! DH was impressed with this, too, as...

One Day in Shanghai Disney, September '16.

Buzz Lightyear doesn't really need any explaining, but it's still great fun, and I think the guns aim better than at DL. I was a real star at this! We went into the Star Wars Launch Bay. It would seem that the Chinese have little interest in it, as there were only about 10 people in there at...

The 'I survived SDL's Opening Day' TR!

I am putting my report under 'One Day in Shanghai Disney', if anyone wants to see it. I'm pretty useless at finding my way around these things til I've been on them for months, so aren't sure how to let you know otherwise. Duh!
