AKL “lost rooms” and making us move!!

Just got back from our trip and thought I would update ... When I had last spoken to the CM who asked us to move to SSR, I was told I would receive a call back. I never did. I called them back when we were literally in the car driving to the resort area and after a lengthy hold, I was told our...

AKL “lost rooms” and making us move!!

Thanks for all the feedback and reality check. I am not normally one to ask for an upgrade, it just seemed odd that the CM was like “too bad, so sad.” Where’s the Disney magic in that?! 😜 I didn’t think of it being a maintenance issue ... she actually mentioned being oversold. Fair point that a...

AKL “lost rooms” and making us move!!

I got a call today that they are bumping us from our AKL 1br villa. First they tried to put us at Boardwalk, but I told them the bed set up does not work. (We need three separate beds.) Then they called back and tried to move us to a 2bed at SSR. I said no. We have stayed at SSR before and it’s...

Heading to DLR next week and not worried about it!

Disney to cancel FPs if room is cancelled

I have not read through the 25 pages of this thread, but I can report that last week I canceled a legit hotel reservation for next week (SAD!!) and my fast passes were still there tonight. I tried to cancel those last week, but the glitchy wdw website and mde app were making it nearly...

Time Limit on Extreme Picky Eating? Does It Ever Go Away?

I was an extremely picky eater as a child, but overcame it when I went away to college and wanted to fit in. I had never eaten a salad with dressing (I always ate it dry) until I was around 20!! Now, in my 40s, I love almost all foods, and I'm willing to try just about anything. But I still hate...

    MDE Issue?

I was able to sign in yesterday, but my plans were all wonky. It was showing the wrong ADRs on the wrong day, and some FPs were missing.

What counts as a bag for bag check?

Haha! I figured as much, but you never know. I wasn't sure if they would want to inspect anything we were holding. Perhaps we have carved out a secret compartment in our book and are hiding something! :P

What counts as a bag for bag check?

I searched but didn't find an answer ... sorry if this a repeat question. What counts as a bag when going through bag check at the parks? Can we carry a bottle of water in hand? Or a book? I am trying my darnedest to go bag free this trip, but my son loves to carry his hidden Mickeys book, and I...

Disney Wonder $13k to Alaska vs $6k on RC

We've done Alaska on Royal Carribean two times ... 2015 and 2016. The first time was on a much older, smaller ship. My kids loved it and loved the kids club on RC, but we have never cruised with Disney, so they don't know the difference. I just couldn't stomach the price for a Disney cruise. In...

Where to leave a stroller behind? AKA Free stroller avail 6/8/18

My youngest is 6 and we are weaning off of using a stroller in the parks. (Recently did 2 days at Disneyland and rented 1 day but not the other.) To be honest, I think *I* need the stroller more than she does because I like to have a way to carry all of our stuff and not have it on my back. I...

“Why take them?, They won’t remember”

YOU will have the memories!!! We took our kids on some crazy trips (not Disney) when they were little babies because the opportunities presented themselves. Do my kids remember? No. But do I have awesome memories and photos of those trips? YES!!! My first instinct would be to say no to babies...

San Francisco - where to stay with kids?

We stayed at this VRBO a couple of years ago and it was awesome. My kids were 3, 6 and 7 at the time. It was a great location. Quiet enough for sleeping and feeling safe coming and going, but in easy proximity to everything. There is a Trader Joes just down the block which we used to stock the...

Would love your opinion...trip in 2 days and kiddo just got the flu

How miserable is your daughter, and does she still have a fever right now? My 6 year old had the flu this month and she was never that bad, so I didn't go to the doctor until it was too late to get Tamiflu. Her fever was gone within a few days, and other symptoms lasted a week, but she was never...

Best socks for Disney? (ones that are super comfy, but won't make my feet stink!)

I second the Smartwool socks, and the suggestion to check Sierra Trading Post. REI Garage will often have deals on Smartwool, too. They are pricey, but so worth it! And merino is easy to wash and dries quickly, so in theory, you could just buy one or two pairs for your Disney trip and wash them...

Considering first split stay ... help me choose which resorts!

I will be traveling in June with my 3 grade-school aged kids. Last June we did GF CL (first time CL) and had a blast. I definitely want to do club level again! I like the idea of switching up resorts because I feel like the resort is part of the experience, and it's fun to see different things...

Suggestions on How to Get my Mother to Eat?

My dad is disabled due to a stroke, severely depressed and also stopped eating. My stepmom does the same as above (it is legal where they live) and it has totally helped to get him to eat again. It is the only thing that has helped him after trying what seems like everything.

queing with kids that will ride alone

I will be spending some time in the parks with my three kids (11,9 and 5). I'll be the only adult with them. My 5 year old is terrified of almost everything, but I want my older kids to be able to ride some rides if they want to. Is it okay for me to take them through the line, but then exit...

    (2014-2020) Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA + VILLAS Information & Questions

Does anyone know if there is a master list that shows approximately how long it takes to get to each park from the resort? We are heading to GF this weekend and I am trying to figure out what time we need to get up each day to make it to rope drop at the various parks. Thanks!
