Thank you everyone for commenting. To clear up the situation. We were in Florida in January and took the tour. We told them we definitely wanted our home resort to be AKL. They found the points, but we were undecided on how many to purchase. I asked if we had to sign then or could we go home...

Oh, I am serious. I can buy Copper Creek but nothing else. the points are there and available, but since I live in West Virginia, I can't buy them.

After waiting for my paperwork for days, I finally called my DVC guide. Apparently, there is a WV state law that prevents me from buying AKV timeshare properties. I can only buy new property? How irritating is this? I put a down payment on it and everything. Been waiting for the paperwork...

I am pretty well set on what we want for points and location. But I am not certain if I should buy entirely direct or if I should buy enough points for a 7 day Studio stay and then add on enough points for a 10 One Bedroom stay for a resale. If I got both of these points in the same use year...

They quoted us $172 a point. If I buy resale, would I be able to use those points in RCi or just Disney properties?
