    Just got back--underwhelmed

Thank you for the suggestion--I will look into Princess! I don't know much at all about that one. I appreciate your advice. I DID enjoy cruising--but oh man I still feel like I am rocking to the boat, ha ha..when does that go away??:duck:

That sounds really fun and I hope you have a fantastic trip! Castaway Cay is fantastic and there are things to do other than just beach, running/walking area, bikes, etc. Unless we missed it, on RC private island it's pretty much just beach/pool (which got incredibly crowded) or you pay (and...

My kids LOVED the kid's clubs at DCL--but hard to tell because that was in 2019 and they were different ages/stages. They definitely tried on this one, but said the teen clubs were a total bust. They tried 3-4 times. They said the offerings/games in there were pretty sad too.

The refreshment package was pretty good for me since I enjoyed the specialty coffees and mocktails, but the classic soda one (we paid $10 per person per day--which adds up when you are paying for several people) wasn't worth it. I can honestly say, both hubby and I drink and we were much better...

I think you hit the nail on the head. Without a doubt, I'd so an inside room on DCL versus another RCCL with my kids--and frankly we just probably won't cruise with the kids again, lol. It makes it easier. They were good sports, but I felt bad for them--I had hyped it up and it was such a let...

    Just got back--underwhelmed

As long as you are well aware there won't be much for the 11 and 15 year old, I think you will be fine. We all read a novel each, lol...so I recommend bringing good reading materials. I tried to book my daughter in the spa with me (thermal suite) for a place to escape the crowded pool deck...

    Just got back--underwhelmed

Yes, we booked excursions through RC directly. So I expected since they were booked directly, they were probably good quality ones--but in the future we just wouldn't book excursions--they aren't cheap, and it just wasn't what we we got compared to what was advertised at all. I'm not brave...

    Just got back--underwhelmed

You are braver than me, lol! I was just planning to do the regular jump with no VR, but my teens were all about the VR. I have tried to do VR without trampolines and I nearly lost my lunch just on that part, ha ha. I was more disappointed that it was marketed (even showing on the now boarding...

    Odyssey entertainment

Just got back (I wrote a review in another post) and I completely agree with all you said. It was underwhelming for sure. I don't think we'd choose RC again. I didn't get all the high end shopping either. It was like they were trying to be over the top luxury--but somehow it just came across...

Yes, they send you a survey afterwards and pretty much what I typed up in this post I copied and pasted it in that survey. I was posting here to also be helpful to other folks who may have been like us, first time cruisers to Royal trying to decide between cruise lines, and ships, and...

    Just got back--underwhelmed

I wondered too if it was a quantum class thing (lack of activities and high end everything)--in several respects. For instance my son's sunglasses broke and we wanted to get him another pair--but we couldn't find anything on board that was several hundred dollars designer glasses--he is a kid...

I'm well aware of why we didn't end up porting at Labadee, and my heart goes out to the people of Haiti. Having said that, for others booking cruising that has Labadee as a port--they should beware, and this is why I posted. I don't think the situation over there is going to be better soon...

    Just got back--underwhelmed

We posted a few times for questions beforehand, and thank you all who contributed. It was super helpful-particularly people who had just recently cruised. We sailed the Odyssey of the Seas, this was our first Royal Caribbean experience, having previously only cruised Disney one time prior to...

    Labadee stop

Thank you for the heads up. I just sent an email to RC. We will see--I am sure there is something buried in the fine print they are allowed to do this, but come on!

    Labadee stop

You are lucky! They added Nassau to our Odyssey of the Seas instead of Labadee. I am very disappointed. I totally understand the need to cancel Labadee, but we booked an Eastern Caribbean cruise and not a Bahamas cruise--we have done that before and made a point for this cruise to avoid the...

    Odyssey entertainment

I am very disappointed to hear this. We booked this cruise about 2 years ago--and during that time Royal advertised actual Broadway shows like Mama Mia, Grease, Hairspray and having 2 theatre teens this was a big sticking point for why we chose it, we thought they had "outgrown" Disney and this...

Just trying to find the email address for guest services--any idea where I would locate that? I've been searching the website, but not seeing it. Thank you!

    Odyssey entertainment

Hello, We sail on Odyssey the end of March (first timers for RC). The entertainment just posted, and so far it is only one thing--The Book. I don't know anything about this one--did anyone have any experience and was it good? We did get reservations as they were quickly booking up. It was...

    My Time dining reservations

Do you guys remember the start times of the shows? Do you reserve those also before you get on the ship? If I remember correctly it said those should post on the first day of the month before sailing (I assuming 2/1 or 3/1, as I wasn't terribly clear on that part--but we sail end of March)...
