    Hilton LBV - Internet

We were there earlier this year. We used the free (Hilton honors) wifi which we found to be fine for streaming and other typical use. I’ve stayed at Hiltons all over the country and the brand is pretty consistent when it comes to wifi. They also offer a paid internet tier which you may want to...

Doctor Dies From Allergic Reaction After Raglan Road Meal at Disney Springs

Regarding non-Disney operated restaurants in Disney springs - it was my understanding that they follow the same protocols as Disney restaurants for allergies. I could be wrong though. One point of reference was a meal we had at the Boathouse 2 years ago. Our server was very chatty and was...

Teppan Edo - Do we TRY it?

Throwing in my 2 cents having eaten there once a year ago. We have local habachi places and have been to several others and the experience is pretty much the same everywhere. So that’s what we expected. Nothing more nothing less. The service, ambience and chef presentation were average, no...

Linking Disney springs hotel (Hilton LBV) to Disney app for early entry confusion

Yes, I tried on the website and the app, as well as calling Disney and Hilton multiple times and no one could get it to work. But what the experience taught me was that it doesn’t matter very much. While it would have been nice to just use my magic band, having to show them a separate...

    Uber money grab?

In my experience preordering a ride is always more expensive and totally not worth the upcharge. I’ve never waited more than a few minutes for a ride to/from any Disney park or local hotel or airport at any time of day or night.

Linking Disney springs hotel (Hilton LBV) to Disney app for early entry confusion

Just returned. I was never able to link the hotel reservation with the Disney app. At check-in I asked about early entry and they filled out a card with the dates I was staying. Seemed entirely routine. Showing up for early entry I simply showed the card to the cm and was waved through with no...

Linking Disney springs hotel (Hilton LBV) to Disney app for early entry confusion

I have a reservation at Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista that won’t link to my Disney account. After calling Disney and being bounced around to 3 people I was finally told that it is not possible to link that hotel and my reservation does not include early entry benefits. Did I miss the news...

    Best Place to watch superbowl

Be sure to check city works website (don’t try to make reservations through the Disney site) for the Super Bowl event to be sure it’s not sold out. Last year (not wanting to pay for a seat at city works) we ended up at Splitsville which had plenty of empty tables in the bar area.

Closet non Disney hotel to Disney Springs?

Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista to be specific. The Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace (not confusing at all /s) is also very walkable to Disney Springs but not quite as close. Really either would work as it’s maybe a five minute difference.

    Early morning flight transportation

From what I can tell you also pay a premium for pre-booking. I can’t confirm but have observed it enough times that Im extremely suspicious.

Would You Stay in an Adults-Only Disney Resort?

No. I’m not offended by the idea but it’s not practical and will never happen at WDW. I’ve taken trips with only my wife so I’m not averse to an adult only Disney trip but families and kids come with the Disney experience. We go other places if we don’t want that. Adults only lounges or age...

Boycotting Florida but not WDW, a moral conundrum

Any touristy place is like this. I’m hesitant to go back to my favorite Florida beach after our last trip. A huge group of locals set up on the beach every day with half a dozen fishing poles and yelled at anyone getting caught in their lines (which covered the area of a football field at least)...

This is how we our country is perceived...

The government (which is us) and insurance companies are paying for most care. So of course they want to provide incentives for good care and penalties for bad care. What constitutes good and bad is typically based on many years of high quality research. If your doctor won’t prescribe a statin...

This is how we our country is perceived...

At risk of going way off topic - doctors are not required to prescribe statins. Instead I would say primary care providers are encouraged to follow nationally accepted clinical guidelines. These well established clinical guidelines recommend the use of statins when certain conditions are met...

    WDW and Universal. Who wins?

I miss the more democratic FP and FP+ where everyone could skip (some) lines. I’ll pay for Genie plus but I’m not happy about it.

    Disappointed

I’m just a casual fan but I don’t think anyone working for the dis owes anyone here an explanation. We already know more than enough. One person made this mess. Wishing the best for everyone else.

Wow, I have never encountered a really rude cast member until today

Absolutely not. It wasn’t a polite request - no wink or smile. They were pretty much shrieking.

Wow, I have never encountered a really rude cast member until today

I agree it is jarring to encounter an out-of-sorts cast member. It doesn’t happen often. One minor incident that always bothered me. I know people hate when groups of teens chant and clap but in this case it was a groups of 4 in line for jungle cruise. I overheard one say it was his birthday...

    Walk or boat?

I’m team walk but if the boat is right there when leaving HS we might jump on. It’s so slow though - not to mention hot, noisy and sometimes smelly. I usually regret not walking even if I’m exhausted.

Best beach in Florida - opinions please

I’ve been vacationing in and around Indian rocks for my whole life. We are always beachfront but I don’t know why anyone would question your presence on the beach. There are plenty of public beach access points and locals and tourists mix with absolutely no issues. It is a public beach after all...
