    50th Anniversary--no studios for 9/30 & 10/1

I tried two days after the 30th was available, and I couldn't get a studio at OKW. It occurred to me a couple of days later, and I was able to get a 1 bdrm. I banked points for the first time in my ownership, so I am booking the larger room for just the two of us.

What's everyone doing for the 50th?

I'm going. I want to see Christmas decorations again, so I have Thanksgiving 2020 booked, and I'll get an AP. Then I plan to be there for the 30th/1st in 2021. I teach, as a previous poster mentioned about themselves, so I will only be able to take a long weekend. I fully expect it to be insane...

    Official AK Moonlight Magic Discussion

Barred again.:headache: This time I was 1491. They paused the line at 9:14 when I was 943. They announced everything sold out eight minutes later. That seems to mean that were only about 500 parties served this morning across three dates. Still so bummed.

Animal Kingdom Moonlight Magic - Virtual Queue & Results 6/5/19 Book Date for July, Aug 2019 Dates

Didn’t get in line until 9:17, was 7100 in line. They announced July 18th closed, then limited for August, then 8/22 closed. At like 9:50? they froze the line to check 8/8 status. I was 490ish. After ten minutes, they announced the 8/8 date full, too. So sad, but I just lost track of time this...

Typhoon Lagoon H2O Glow - thoughts?

I attended last year with my DH and two young adult children. We loved the easy crowds, but best for us was not having to worry about sunburns or scorching hot pavement! The extra themed features were fun, too.

Is Moonlight Magic worth planning a trip around?

I booked a trip for the August AK date. It’s the first time that an after hours was offered when we could go. It is a time that I have visited in the past, so I am hopeful that it will be a good experience— come on rare characters- but I would not feel like I lost out if it’s only okay.

I would do APs for October 2020 for the family.

Do any adults on here get pixie dusted at MK? (literally with glitter not figuratively with luck)

My adult daughter and I were taking photos in Castle Couture after seeing princesses very late one night when a CM asked if we wanted pixie dust. It was such fun,

    Target Gift Card Problem

FWIW, if you have time to space out purchases over time, you can add a Disney gift card to an everyday purchase that has at least as much in regular merchandise and use the Target card. I bought $50+ in stuff and a $50 Disney card and paid with a Target card. I knew the Disney card was free...

    Thanksgiving Week

I have done two Thanksgiving trips in conjunction with high school marching band trips for my kids. I don’t chaperone, I stay at OKW, and we attend band events a la carte. We have also done NYE twice and New Year’s Day arrivals two other times. I have found Thanksgiving to be less crowded than...

Best "school break" time to visit for 1st timers?

Early June can be bearable weather-wise if your school system gets out early enough. The crowds are much lighter than either spring or winter break weeks.

    January 1-6...what to expect?

I love that week. We are teachers with hs- college- grad kids. We’ve been New Years week four times. Yes, it’s crowded, but it’s not ghastly hot and humid, so you can be in the parks longer more comfortably. Like any time of year, have a plan and be flexible.

Storing Luggage While in the Parks...

Resort check-in for your flight and Magical Express are two separate things. You can send the bags. FWIW, some airlines send your bags ahead of you. I know mine got to Midway a few hours before I did once.

When AP expires what happens to photopass pictures

My APexpired February 1st, and my photos from June, October, and November have year-long expiration dates on them. I made sure to download the previous November’s and January 2017 pics before they were a year old.

    Tell me about Touring Plans

I still think they are the best. They have the most comprehensive information on resorts, dining, and attractions. They also have the most data on usage and crowds. All the calendar projection companies are struggling a bit as Disney adjusts capacity more and more to control their costs. TP will...

Kids are off property with band and I'm on property

If you can get ticket numbers, you’ll be able to book FPs at 30 days. Their bands can be used, and you’ll have access to their photos. I did all of the above for DS’s music trip over Thanksgiving.
