    Mother/adult daughter trip advice

So, my mom and I are doing a mother/daughter trip to Florida this month, just the two of us ❤ and last time we did a FL trip (2017?) we did Epcot, so she requested we do that again since we had fun. My mom isn’t a ride person, at all, but really enjoyed the theming, food/drinks and fireworks...

How does Disney count room occupancy?

I'm sorry that makes you sad, fortunately you don't have to pay for 4 plane tickets, food for four or park tickets for four and you can choose any resort you would like to stay at. The majority of hotels I have been to, in many places not just my area (we have stayed in Minneapolis, Chicago...

    Christmas Present 'Present'

We did the Disney trip as a Christmas gift. The things they opened were; *luggage (we got the Rockford ones off amazon, it has a 'carry on' which fit all of their stuff for the week and a small duffel like bag that we had them put things to do on the plane in; this was over 2 years ago and they...

How does Disney count room occupancy?

I think this just depends on the family. If you think your infant/toddler will sleep with others awake and if you don't care about a lack of space (we just moved last summer and until our move our family of 6 survived in a 1,000 sq ft house with only 1 bathroom every day just fine ;) ) than the...

    35 weeks pregnant...

Coming from someone who had my babies at 34, 35, 36 and 37 weeks....I'd do it. Honestly I'd be more comfortable having a baby away from home at 35 weeks than pushing the trip forward and possibly having a baby away from home at 28-34 weeks and people don't bat an eye at a woman going on a trip...

Solo trip with kids? Would you?

I'd do it in a heartbeat. DH is not a huge Disney fan, and I have done trips on my own with our kids before (4 kids, currently aged 11, 10, 6, and 4).

Help in deciding which parks to visit

I wouldn't do DHS with a toddler. There just isn't much there for them. I'd be much more inclined to do Animal Kingdom. But most likely with only 3 days I'd just do MK, Epcot, MK

    Penny Press

My kids LOVED the pressed pennies. Most were .51 I believe. Two quarters and a penny. Cheapest souvenir in Disney ;) and we bought the pressed penny book, definitely less than $10

How to preserve the magic as kids get older?

Don't stress yourself out trying to make it magical. Any kid who has the opportunity to go to Disney World has a magical life :)

    Princess dress dilemma

There are also several dress shops that sell comfortable little girls dresses. Not sure if I am supposed to put names here but we liked Little Dress Up Shop. They make their dresses with the parks in mind so comfortable fabrics and designs.

Is 6 straight days too many?

We went in 2014 with just our girls, they were 9 and 7 and we did 6 back to back park days (open to close except Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios) 2 days MK, 2 days Epcot, 1 day each for the other two and we did fine. You know your family. We were exhausted when we came home, but we were...

Driving from WI, 8 1/2 days, still fun?

I am not sure I'd want to do that long of a drive for 4 days. We do roadtrips fairly often, my kids do well in the car, but I need a few days of minimal driving before I can take the thought of that drive again ;) We haven't actually driven to FL yet, but we did drive to Ottawa, ON last summer...

More time in Epcot or MK?

It is hard to say, probably Magic Kingdom though because they simply have more rides. Honestly though, if it were me and I wasn't set on booking table service meals every day I would leave our last park day up in the air, to be decided once we did all of the other parks. That way you can see...

Favorite Back Pack - and what do you have in it?

I got the baggalini messenger before our 2014 trip. It just didn't fit me well (I'm 5'3 and petite), so it wasn't comfortable and it couldn't hold sweaters so I didn't take it to the parks everyday because the days with cooler mornings I needed to bring a regular backpack for the sweaters once...

Memory maker worth it for one day?

I wish I had known this was an option in January (bummed I missed it, we went Jan 31), we went for 1 day. I would not have paid $149 for 1 day but would have considered it for $59. Either way we got good pictures, thankfully Photopass photographers will take a picture with your phone. I loved...

    WWYD-- Skip Illuminations or not

I am with many of the others, Illuminations is my favorite nighttime show of all of them, I would not miss it! Honestly there is no way you will even put a dent in Epcot in 4 hours anyways. It is definitely a full day park, if not more.

Do you give a gift if you can't attend an event?

Only for close friends/family. If the kids are invited to a birthday party for a friend from school and they can't go, no gift. If we are invited to a birthday party for a niece/nephew/cousin/close friend and can't go, we give a gift the next time we see them. Invited to a wedding for a couple...

Thoughts on the Hilton Doubletree at Disney Springs??

The original poster mentioned walking to Disney Springs and taking the Disney buses. Disney only runs buses to/from Disney Springs and the Resorts, none of their buses will go directly from Disney Springs to the parks. The schedule of when each non-Disney hotel runs its shuttles depends on the...
