Yes...good idea. Is the concept of a throwaway room frowned upon by Universal. In other words, if I upgrade to an AP and take a discount on Cabana Bay room, can I book a 2nd room at Hard Rock through them or will they tell me that isn't allowed?

You bring up a good point. My rate was $1350+tax. If I were to book 2 rooms, it could have been $1100. I might look into this as that difference would pay for a meal for my 6. On the AP, I think it would be about $300+ to upgrade to AP, and then I assume it's going to only be a 30% discount...

You definitely can. I got on to reserve FP+ exactly 60 days out. We have an 11-day trip with 9-day tickets and we are using the last park day on Day 11. I booked those FP+ along with the rest of mine all at the same time.

This! 1000X! You have to remember that most of the people that go to Disney World are not insane like all of us. They have no idea what a Magic Band is, what FP+ stands for, etc. They will be frightened by the new system and will use the KTTW card. They won't want to download some app...

I've done both, and I'd choose MVMCP if I had to do one again, but the Pirates Voyage was worth doing once in my opinion. Great view of the fireworks, but very entertaining evening overall.

I had a MK bonus FP+ each day I booked MK during the week of 9/14-9/21 (3 different days). It was always the Under the Sea ride, fyi - you don't get to pick it (similar to how FP- would sometimes spit out a random fast pass that you didn't get to select).

We were having similar issues. We just decided to book for half our group and then book for the other half of the group separately, while trying to get the same attractions/times. It worked out well for now...probably won't work out so well when FP+ is fully rolled out.
