    Gift Cards Using Credit Cards?

Thanks for the info Dez! So yes, my plan would be to use the Visa gift cards to then buy the Disney cards from Sam's. I did a little math and if I purchase the Visa cards and then apply them to the Sam's purchase, I'll still end up with about $50 in cash back. I'm not running out to do it...

    Gift Cards Using Credit Cards?

I am in the process of purchasing some Disney gift cards from Sam's Club. In the past I'd use cash and directly purchase from Sam's, but am considering a new process. My credit card has the following perk: "Earn unlimited 3% cash back on dining, entertainment, popular streaming services and at...

Port of Miami: Flying vs. Driving

This is kind of an odd question, but I welcome your thoughts! I am going on a 5 day Magic cruise out of Miami in January. I live on the opposite coast of Florida, near Tampa. After doing some checking, it seems like I can fly RT from Tampa to Miami for approximately the same cost of driving...

Need Advice to Plan Activities on a 5 Night MDAS Cruise

Thank you all for the advice! I'll aim to do Palo brunch on the non-Marvel day as that is the primary reason I booked this particular sailing on the Magic. I'm excited to see Animators on the classic if it is so different! Is there a way to find out your dining rotation in advance? Instead...

Need Advice to Plan Activities on a 5 Night MDAS Cruise

Sailing out of Miami on the Magic in January of 2020. We're doing Castaway, Sea Day, Cozumel, Sea Day. It's my first time going solo and my 5th Disney cruise. Also my first time on the Magic - the rest have been Dream/Fantasy. I'd like to make sure I do the following: 1) Palo Brunch 2) Palo...

Is it worth handing out an empty tip envelope?

I agree they're not pointless and definitely worth looking at closely. On our last cruise, my friend and I were travelling together and only billed 1 set of tips to me and nothing to her. When we were putting the slips into the envelopes I realized both slips were in my name. We had to go down...

    Tipping servers and room attendant

That's what I've also heard. But have also heard cash can be helpful if someone is doing a store run while they're in Port. I don't think there's a perfect answer but last cruise someone at our table thought we were crazy for increasing at guest services and not giving cash. Said person also...

    Tipping servers and room attendant

I'd actually like to know - is there in fact a preferred way for the CMs to receive tips? I've heard varying reports on if cash if preferred or not. We tip room service in cash, but for other tips we increase the amount at guest services.

    Cozumel Food Tours?

A food tour is more or less like any other tour. You have a guide, they take you around to different spots. Except in this case, they take you to different restaurants, stands or markets to sample the cuisine. Usually, they have a pretty good idea of hidden gems or specialities tourists might...

    Tivoli Gardens

I went to Tivoli last summer. I'm 5' 4" and on the heavier side - definitely Pooh sized. I was able to fit in the rides with no problem. I don't know if height would cause an issue. Most of the rides seemed fairly modern and not very old, from what I recall. Not sure when you're going, but...

    Cozumel Food Tours?

Howdy all! I'm sailing on the Magic in January of 2020 and our stops include Cozumel and Castaway. Cozumel will be a new port for me and I'm interested in doing a food tour of some kind. I did this in Seattle and it was one of the best things I ever did for getting a feel of an environment -...

    Remy advice.

I do agree with others that trusting the chef is definitely the way to go, but I will say they are able to adjust dishes if necessary. My travel partner has a sensitivity to scallops and doesn't care for mushrooms, so they able to adjust dishes to her needs. If there's something your husband...

DIS 20th Anniversary Event - Official Info

It's been a busy school year, so I haven't had as much time available to be on the boards. However, I am excited to report I am planning to come to the Epcot party! We rented a house near Disney and it will be a great way to celebrate the end of the school year!

DIS 20th Anniversary Event - Official Info

Oh hooray! I didn't know things had been announced-ish yet. June 1st is a "post-school day" for us, usually a day to get your grades together and such. If something ends of happening in the evening or on the weekend, it would be great to attend, but if it's during the day then probably no go. :(

    Valet Parking Question

DH and I spend each NYE at DHS. To avoid parking issues, we are thinking about valet parking at a nearish resort. Does anyone know if it's possible to just valet at a resort? If so, what does one say to the guard at the gate? Thanks!

    Stay Safe...

I'm on the Gulf Coast and they just cancelled school for the second day. We've had massive rain and a bit of flooding - local roads were flooded and it took me almost 2x as long to get home. It's been windy and rainy all day, but not insane. It will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings.

Pumpkin Spice season is upon us ....

I'm a weirdo who believes deeply in "seasons" for things. I was having a discussion with coworkers about how mid-September - Thanksgiving is PSL season. Then I flip over to Peppermint Mocha on Thanksgiving morning. The rest of the year I'm pretty much a no-flavor in my coffee girl.
