    Dining Plan Returning

Unless they've changed the way they operate, you can cancel but you will likely be assessed a change fee. Generally they waive that fee if you increase the price of your package, but not if you decrease it.

    Dining plan return?

If the DDP is operational by then, you should be able to purchase it through the person you're renting points from. You won't be able to add it directly like you would with a standard resort stay.

How does dining plan work and what is included?

I expect they'll make tweaks, but I doubt it will look totally different (too bad, because a more ala carte or points based system might be interesting). As to how it HAS worked... it's an add-on option to a resort stay, and is tied to the number of nights off your stay (e.g., a 2 night stay...

    1900 Park fare?

Until all restaurants are open and operating at more or less full capacity, I wouldn't expect the dining plans to return.

    Disney Dining Plan Returning?

There will be a dining plan returning. Eventually. But don't hold your breath. When all restaurants are open and at more or less full capacity, then we should see the DDP (or a modified version of it) back. But that ain't now and it's not going to be anytime soon. The best you can hope for (and...

    Dining Plan Watch Thread

If adding a dining plan, you can do that without rebooking. Switching deals (for example, applying a free dining offer) would require rebooking.

Budgeting & Hoping for the Return of Dining Plans

Until all the restaurants are running at full capacity, they won't bring back the dining plan. Given contracting logistics, I can't imagine they's start it up prior to Jan1 at this point, and even that date is aggressive.

    Dining Plan

The only thing we can reasonably safely assume from the lack of the DDP snack logos is that return of the dining plan in any form is not imminent. Then again, there really aren't THAT many total locations that accept DDP for snacks (using a Disney sized scale of things) that they couldn't update...

    Disney Dining Plan

Free dining is a package discount, which is generally used instead of room rate discounts or other bundled items. The types and amounts of discounts vary as occupancy in the resorts do - they want those rooms full, and when they're not, they offer deals to get them filled up. When the dining...

    Dining Plan

No one knows for sure. Jan 1, 2022 sounds reasonable just because it makes certain things more convenient, but with lower capacity at restaurants still not resolved, who knows?

Nor appetizers if using Deluxe. I should probably edit my original response to include these caveats.

    Meal PLan question

In a NORMAL year, the negotiations often go right up to Jan 1 (or even after) for a number of 3rd party restaurants. Jan 1, 2022 is actually still an aggressive, though still reasonable, re-launch date. There MIGHT be some form of quick service plan available before that, but even if there are...

    Meal PLan question

I agree with Pumbaa, but in the abstract (taking away the "this year" component of it) jcarwash's advice is sound - if you are unsure about regular (or deluxe) DDP solely because of the possibility of not getting the ADRs you want, go for the ADRs first and then add a dining plan to your package...

DDP, TIW, OOP, DVC, Club Level, Kitchenettes - help!

Yes, you can bring food and drink into the park with you, if you wish to deal with carrying it. Nothing in glass (except baby food) or metal containers, though, and with any kind of bag or cooler you will be required to go through the security line each time you enter a park.

New to DVC but wondering about maximizing DDP when it comes back

If you really want to do the math, go to this old thread of mine to figure out how to "value" each credit once the 2022 (or whenever) prices are available. If the entitlements change, the principles remain the same, just muck around with the equations...

Snacks on new Disney dining credit plan

My totally uninformed opinion is that dining plans will return on Jan 1 - seems even more reasonable given the recent rate of re-openings. However, I don't think Disney felt comfortable committing to that at the time they published this particular UK offer. I would not be surprised to see a...

    DDP 2022?

You can always make changes to package reservations (up to a few weeks before arrival, and even then, you can change for a fee up until a few days before arrival). If you book room only, you'd have to convert to a package first, but unless something weird is going on, you shouldn't have to...

    DDP 2022?

14 days is the standard for the UK packages, IIRC. I wouldn't expect this deal to be offered to US or Canada.

Snacks on new Disney dining credit plan

Correct. Disney is selling next year's UK packages now and isn't ready to commit to having a "normal" DDP yet, so this appears to be a stop-gap measure to still roll out a a package deal without actually having DDP.

Snacks on new Disney dining credit plan

The wording of the press release makes it seem that most locations, snacks included, will accept the credits. If I had to guess, it'll probably be accepted anywhere you can use a KTTW card or MagicBand to pay. It's essentially just a Disney gift card, but specific to dining.
