What's your strategy for 2 days in the same park?

We do all of our favorites the first day because you never know if weather or mechanical issues will cause a closure on the 2nd day. The second day we go at a more relaxed pace, sometimes repeating a few of our favorites but exploring areas in depth a bit more.

    Help June celebrations

WDW doesn't do much for Father's Day- we'll be in Orlando on that day as well. Last year, WDW had some Father's Day themed desserts at Amorette's and a few resort quick services. I gave my husband a list of a few of his favorite things in WDW/Universal and told him pick his favorite for that...

Best 2 bedroom villa for 9 people

I would go with the resorts that have 3 bathrooms in the 2 bedroom- BLT & Kidani. At the very least, the ones with 2.5 bathrooms - VGF and Riv. I would only choose one of the 2 bedroom options if most of your group is planning to spend almost all waking hours in the park.

For those who take yearly trips..how many park days?

For the past 15 years, we've gone 1-2 times a year to WDW. We used to stay 1 week and get 5 day tickets. For the last 5 years or so we've stayed for 2 weeks in the summer and get 3 or 4 day Disney tickets but we now incorporate Universal. We get Universal annual passes and go almost every day...

Best time to take young kids out of school?

Early May and early December might both be a good fit for your family. The crowds are lower during those time periods compared to the rest of the year and the weather isn't as extreme as the rest of the year. Early May- Families are less likely to pull their kids out of school right before the...

Not sure where this post belongs but

It is spring break for the next few weeks and I think a lot of people don't realize how crowded the parks get during that time (it is the same at Universal as well right now). I think of spring break as slightly less crowded than the week of Christmas at WDW. One of the most helpful tools for...

    Breakfast at Boardwalk

I miss Trattoria al Forno's to go breakfast that they offered for awhile after covid. We used mobile order for their breakfast 2 or 3 times per trip.

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

We are DVC and AKL is our home resort. I have a hard time getting in and out of that tub to take a shower (I have a balance disorder). Would not have thought to book an HA room! While I was in the shower on my last visit I had a realization that as I get older, getting in/out of the shower with...

Free Water Park for 2025 Stays

I think this is a great perk but it won't cause us to change our arrival time on check-in day. If we were paying for a water park ticket on arrival day, I would try to make sure we were there as close to park opening as possible to get our money's worth. But since the perk is a free ticket, I...

    Woody’s Roundup or ABC Commissary

If you are just looking for the lunch box tarts I would mobile order them and eat on the go- I would grab lunch somewhere else. The food at Woody's is good and simple but the seating is often too hard to come by. It has adorable theming but seating is a struggle, especially if you want some...

Express Pass Recommended for Sat Mar 30? Will it sell out day of?

Express Passes can sell out. For that date it currently costs around $300 each to add express to your park to park ticket, so yes, sounds like that day will be packed. If you book a ghost/throwaway room at one of the deluxe resorts you will get express pass for free and save a few hundred...

Sheraton Vistana Villages vs Marriott for Universal

We are a family of 6, 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls) between the ages of 10-16 with annual passes to Universal. If given the choice would you rather pick a 2 bedroom at Sheraton Vistana Villages or one of Marriott's properties like Harbour Lake or Grande Vista? My mom gifted us a week at her...

    Both parks in one day

I think it depends on the time of year. Peak times and holidays would be tough. The slower times can be a challenge too since the park hours are much shorter. You'll definitely get to ride the vast majority in one day but some factors like weather/crowds/hours will make your goal of riding...

    DAS opinions please!

You can always try out the parks without the DAS and see how it is. If you find the DAS would be helpful, you can go to guest services and request it during your trip but as others mentioned, there isn't a guarantee you will get the DAS. If you aren't approved, there are a few strategies you...

Help Me Narrow Down Our List...

One thing to consider regarding Beaches and Cream on your arrival day- this is an incredibly hard to get ADR since the place is so small. If you wanted to book it later in your trip you would have a better chance of getting the reservation. Food is ok, desserts are better than entrees. If you...

    Navi - Boat Bumping?

Yes, the boats bump on Navi but in my experience, it isn't as jarring as on Pirates, Three Caballeros and IASW. They can bump along the ride and especially towards the end. I am one of those people who is very sensitive to boat bumping due to previous head/neck/back injuries.

***The Official AKV Owners And Lovers Thread***. Come And Chat

We usually end our split stays at AKV. We often stay 14-20 days and find the relaxing vibe of AKV fits our family better towards the end of our stay. We usually travel as a family of 5 so we start off in a studio or 1 bedroom at the beginning of the trip when we are at the parks rope drop to...

    On the hunt for trains

There's a train ride at Disney Springs by Earl of Sandwich- the Marketplace Train Express. I think a ticket costs $5. Edited to add one I forgot- There's also the train room at Boulder Ridge. Two of Walt's original train cars from his backyard train are on display and photos of Walt with his...

    AP question

The clock starts when you first use it. Save any email, etc with confirmation that you purchased a 12+3 free pass- I had an issue a few years ago when I bought the same type of pass. When I activated it 10 months later it was only activated as a 12 month pass. I had to send screenshots of emails...
