    B&B -- Help! I can't open my hand soap!

I know this thread is super old, but I was searching the internet trying to figure out the hand soap (I usually get the foaming soap, and it just twists open). This made sense to me and more importantly IT WORKED. Thank you!!!

    getting lost

I always do this. I worry and plan and look at maps and replan and make lists and watch videos, then when we get there it all falls away. I think all the planning and worrying pays off in a relaxing trip. :goodvibes

    getting lost

can you print off maps before you go? that way you could circle the things you want to see/do. or maybe make personalized maps on the disney site? like others said, though, everything is pretty clearly marked, and there are cm's all over the place who are more than happy to point you in...

What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

Oh boo! That was so much fun. Especially for a kid who had never seen a working pay phone, it was just a whole new concept for him. :(

What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

When we went in October (2012) you could. I had my DS12 go in to pose for a picture, then dialed the number. The look on his face was priceless!

    Vacation Tips for Women! :)

I got a tube of the Dr Scholl's peppermint foot/leg cream in the travel section of Target. It's really great at night, too. I used it on my feet and all the way up my tired calves.

    Vacation Tips for Women! :)

Do it! You won't regret it! There's a bit of learning curve at first, but once you get the hang of putting it in and taking it out you'll wonder why anyone uses tampons ever. Seriously. As for how to know when it's full, that's part of the learning curve. After a couple of months of using it...

What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

Yes, like disneymama said it's just a sink with no soap. Plus, we liked to get a drink in the evening and take it back to our room. Then you'll want to be able to wash the mugs before you go to sleep so you can use them in the morning, and I wouldn't have wanted to walk all the way back to the...

    Which one?

I wondered this same thing on our last trip. We tried to both, but could only get to one and we went with the advice and saw Lion King. It was the highlight of our day.

    # of days at each park??

Not just eating all the time, but also planning all your activities around your next adr. We've gone with ddp twice and qsdp once, and although we missed some of our fave restaurants, the qsdp was nice since we weren't always figuring out what we could get done and when we had to leave for our...

    Advice you'd give a newbie

That has not been my experience, but ymmv. I always leave wishing I could spend another day in every park.

    # of days at each park??

Yay! Your kids are at great ages for a first trip! My first recommendation is to look at a crowd calendar to choose which park for which day. I found easywdw to be spot on and being in the less crowded park really makes my vacay better. For my family, we like to schedule a down day, and maybe...

What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

I know there's a sign at Kali River Rapids requesting guests keep their shoes on. We wore crocs on our AK day. And I put on my poncho to ride that- best move I ever made. It was not quite hot enough in October to walk around dripping wet.

    Homeschool Chat Part III

We have been using All About Spelling. No worksheets. It works through the phonograms and teaches the spelling rules. It might be just what you're looking for. We started with book 1 with a beginning reader (she could read, but slowly) to help her get the phonics, and just worked quickly...

    Where to sit on Soarin'

The view is definitely better from the first row, but you can smell the scents better from the other two rows. DS and I rode twice in a row and did both because we couldn't decide which we would like better. I say if you're only riding once, B1 all the way. If you're riding more than once, try...

    Rope drop?

This last trip was the first time we went early to the parks (not there at rope drop but shortly after) and it was really worth it. Very few people in the park- literally walking onto rides. Most people sleep until whenever, then eat a leisurely breakfast and don't rush because they're on...

Stroller: Rent or Bring (Check on Plane)???

There's also the possibility of a long walk from your car or the bus stop to your room. In the morning it wasn't a big deal for us, but at night it was good to have our own stroller at the hotel.

    Homeschool Chat Part III

Just wanted to chime in with a little more encouragement. No, not everyone who homeschools has a stay at home parent. No, you're not asking too much of a 13 year old. I agree with PPs- relax, breathe, and know that you're doing what's best for your daughter. You'll get the details worked...

Not sure where to post this?

There were definitely umbrella strollers at Pop Century last week. I didn't look closely at them, but I did see them hanging there. hth!
