Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

Just curious: in "normal" times, how are the waits for boats?

Is anyone currently/ recently at WDW?

Yes, I saw that, and it's certainly entering into my thoughts. So maybe we'll rent a car. Or maybe walk to the Boardwalk or BC/YC on our Magic Kingdom days. Or maybe we'll just stay at Caribbean Beach. I am SO on the fence!!!

Is anyone currently/ recently at WDW?

We're hoping to return next summer. And I keep going back and forth on the subject of transportation. With reduced transportation capacity, I'm anticipating really long lines waiting for buses. If that's the case, we'll probably book the Dolphin, to avoid those long waits. But if the waits are...

    Opinions for next summer?

Thanks! That's what I keep coming back to-- the location. My kids are all adults; the youngest is 17. So they don't need the in-you-face Mickey Mouse 24/7. I think I just needed someone to agree, lol.

    Opinions for next summer?

My primary concern is transportation. Have the Covid requirements resulted in significant lines for buses? This time we'll need 2 rooms, so staying at a Disney Epcot resort and walking to at least one park is financially off the table. I'm strongly considering Swan/Dolphin, but am wondering...

Last week there was a 60 minute wait posted at about 10 am. We waited 40.

Sometimes in the parenting dept, I wonder

It saddens me to see the focus of this thread move from the child to the OP. The Dis is a wonderful place, but we do tend to pile on. Could we get off the subject of the OP's motives, and get back to what she can do for her niece?

Friends didn't enjoy their WDW trips

Friends of ours have adult kids who will be returning to WDW for I think the 3rd time. They're not on the DDP, but do have the ADRs they want. But no FP's. And they had no idea of Memory Maker until we spoke last night, adding them to our Friends and Family Account so they could make use of...

    A Memory Maker question

We pre-purchased Memory Maker for our upcoming trip. We just found out that some friends will be going to WDW a day or two after we get back. I offered to let them share our MM account. I've invited them onto our Friends and Family list, and they've accepted. According to MDE, they can view my...

    Oops, sorry

Oops. Sorry. I posted this in the wrong forum. So instead, I'll just say that my whole family is counting the hours until we leave for JFK and then WDW ;)

    Shoes!

I alternate between Teva Mush Flip flops (about $25 at amazon) and Nike sneakers. I'm not an exercise kind of person, but I can manage 12-13 miles a day at WDW using that combo of footwear.

You're so welcome. This site is a double edged sword. There's so much wonderful info here, but it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking you have to see and do and experience it ALL. It's not possible. Ignorance is bliss; they can have the time of their lives without all those experiences we...

That's the thing. So many of us, as adults, try to make sure our kids see and do all the stuff we know they would love. When the odds are decent that one of the things they'll rave to their friends about is night swimming or the funny lady on the bus or something else. As an aside, realize that...

I would plan to be on it first thing. The waits will only get longer as the day goes on. Or, plan B: realize that you simply can't do every ride. That was a huge realization for us on our first trip; it simply isn't possible to see and do it all. Best advice ever: don't give any one...

    Question about Prime Day

I just got an Amazon dot (aka "Alexa") for $29.99--- down $20 from the normal price. I wanted it for my daughter's dorm room.

    Walking in Disney

Last trip, my husband's phone showed a consistent 12-13 miles per day.

When do the “15’s” start to diminish?

Maybe I'm spitting into the wind. Or maybe we've just been incredibly lucky. But we've never run into them. To be expected in the resorts; as a family of 5 we stay Deluxe. But we've never had an issue in the parks either. (Now, watch, next week they'll be everywhere, lol.) So, while I don't...

    >> Refillable Mug FAQ <<

Honestly, I bring a little dishwashing lotion and wash them each time we use them. Then it doesn't matter who has which one each time.
