Give Kids The World meets for 2015

Have dates been announced for Give Kids The World Meets for 2015. Will new cities be added maybe like Long Island

The GKTW meets are all organized by volunteers in the various locations. Typically the meets will be announced once the organizers firm-up the details as to the date and location of the meet. You can follow that on Disboards or on the podcast.

As far as new cities, that's entirely dependent on having somebody deciding to organize a meet there. I'm sure that Long Island would be a great place to have a meet. All it takes is a few people to take on the task.

Hey there! :)

You can find information and a list of upcoming events on our Give Kids the World sub-forum. I've included a link below:

There's nothing planned in LI as of right now. Are you volunteering? ;)

Hosting an event is a lot of fun and very rewarding. I highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

Is there a "How to throw a GKTW meet for dummies" thread? I haven't been able to attend any and I wasn't sure how it works. I know each meet has its own personality but what are the basic essentials needed to put on a meet?

Nicole Mancini (Nikki) put together a great blog on how to do this.

New England will be keeping the October time frame but we have not chosen our 2015 date yet. We need to make sure we don't collide with the Buddy walk again!!

TSWJan78 thanks for your offer. I have a lot of other projects going on right now but I guess once I have an opening in my schedule, I'll know who to turn to. Thank you! I was just curious about a basic outline and the links provided are helping. I probably really need to try to attend one as well. The extra bonus from these meets would be to get to know a lot of other great people from the DIS community.

This is so true. I have so many new local Disney friends who I otherwise would never have met, if not for the Nova Scotia DisMeet.

Delaware will be keeping their event in November. The weekend will change because of UD football.

The Hershey meet will be happening again next year, but we are going to move it to the end of June (so we are clear with schools being out for summer and not coinciding with Father's Day). As soon as we have a date it will be posted.

The NJ Meet will be April 24-26, 2015.
That's an easy drive from LI.

Watch our thread here on the boards and also our website for details.
