Hello - New Here

Hello everyone. Name is darthspielberg (Boy, I'm creative. I think I've had that handle for over 10 years now. I also go by Donald) and I am a fairly large Disney geek. I love the world of Disney Theme Parks. Ever since I went when I was 6, the parks have always been a part of my life.

I discovered the site and podcast while researching for my next trip (December, almost a week at the Art of Animation to celebrate me graduating college) and for the last few months, I've been obsessively going through the backlog of episodes getting caught up on all the DIS.

I've been a member of a few Disney forums, but I am thrilled to join this huge community!

HI and welcome! And congratulations on your upcoming graduation!! What's your degree in, and what do you plan to do with it?

We're both teachers, so our next return will be, as always, in August... but of 2014.
(W e're remodeling the kitchen this summer.) We'll be celebrating our silver anniversary, our son's 16th birthday, and our daughter's graduations from middle and elementary school.

I am a film/digital video production major, and I kinda want to try and get a video production job at Disney.

Wow, that would be such a cool job!

I know nothing about film, but imagine that Disney would be one of the leaders in the field.

Is there any shot at an internship of any sort?

Internships may be slim as my school would rather me do an internship locally (Boston area) but who knows, it's possible.

I have spotted a few video production jobs at Disney in Florida every now and again. I assume they do whatever video needs are required, be it stuff for events, the vacation DVDs, or training videos...but if I could snag that gig after school, I'd be a happy camper.

Hi Donald! I'm new here too. I've been reading the forums for quite some time but just got up the nerve to make up a handle and start posting a few days ago... this is my very first post, in fact! I agree that working at Disney would be super awesome!

Thanks again to everyone for the welcome! Two months later, I am thrilled to be here. I was producing and directing a short film over the summer, so things got busy, but now I am starting to prepare for my next trip to Disney, and I am diving head first into these boards.

Congrats on your graduation and good luck with getting an internship!
