Haunted Mansion WDW

Hi everybody-Do any of you know whether or not the walls go up in the first room of The Haunted Mansion, or are you moving down?

Thanks!

It's the walls, not the floor. You exit on the same level as you enter the room. The next level down would be the Utilidoors.

That's what I was thinking-it didn't feel like you were moving at all. Thanks!

Was the thread moved or was it the rest of the board?

Yes.

The DL version of HM has an actual elevator in its stretching room, so you are moving down. At MK, however, the ride's loading area is on the same floor as the entrance, so no elevator is necessary. The walls are moving, but you aren't.
Lots more info here :)

I see what you did there.

As others have said, at WDW it's the walls that are moving and not you. You can tell by looking at the floor when you enter and exit the stretching room. There is no break in the floor like there would be for an elevator car. If you've been to DLR, then you can also tell because there is no slight jolt when the scene begins (you can feel the car start to move in DLR, especially if you close your eyes).

Thanks for asking this. I always thought that we were moving.
