sticky vs thread
what is the difference between a tread and a sticky? what is wach one of their purposes? thank you, have wanted to know this for sometime now
|
a sticky stays in place and usually on the top of page one.
a thread will constantly be moving |
stickies usually are helpful for keeping up with commonly asked questions or common issues. reading the stickies can also help keep you from breaking the rules and making the moderators cranky.

Welcome! |
and while you may have learned that "there is no such thing as a stupid question", if you post a question on the "welcome to the DIS forum" asking what abbreviations like YMMV and DDP mean, that post will wind up directly underneath the sticky titled "A List of Common Abbreviations."
