Pre-planning late April trip. Need some help.

I remember seeing Coke Zero at the restaurant with the Shellie May and Duffy show.

I vaguely recall being asked whether I wanted Coke or Coke Zero in the table service restaurants. But, it was some time ago and it's not a detail that I would have paid attention to at the time, so I could be wrong.

OP - can you report back on once you've booked? Apparently it only allows MasterCard outside Japan and I'm having to get a card specially because of it - want to check MC works before I sign up for one.

I have booked a hotel MiraCosta room for May on December 28th with a Australian Master-Debit Card without issue. They seem to be very specific with what cards they can take on they FAQ page:

Q05: Do I have to have a credit card to make a reservation?
A05:Yes. Acceptable credit cards are JCB card, which is the official card of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, and other major credit cards*.
If you don't have a credit card, please call the Tokyo Disney Resort Reservations Center.

  • --Other major credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, Orico and Mitsubishi UFJ Nicos. (Only the Orico and Mitsubishi UFJ Nicos card with the JCB, VISA or MasterCard brand mark will be accepted.)
    • --We're sorry, but the following credit cards issued outside Japan are not accepted on the Tokyo Disney Resort Online Reservation & Tickets site: Visa, American Express, Diners Club.
    • --Debit card cannot be used.
So AMEX and MasterCard are still no issues so far and they seem to not be restricting it further as the rumors about it have disappered.

It's so confusing that it says they accept Visa here when I've been told the opposite. Also that you've booked with a Debit when they say they only accept Credit? I only have a Visa Debit currently so it's the difference between upgrading my existing card or taking out a new MasterCard with a different new bank.

That IS strange... I wonder if it depends on if your debit card can be run as credit? I just modified my reservation (was able to move from a piazza view to a harbor view room at Miracosta, yay!) and it had me verify my mastercard info without issue.

In Australia you can get eftpos cards with either Master Card or Visa which can act as credit cards (Sorry) their call Visa/Master debit cards.

And it says that only a visa card issued in Japan can be used not a international issued one. Sorry about not clarifying what it says, the Japanese to English translations can be confusing.

Thanks for clarifying! Looks I'll be signing up for MasterCard. Don't make it easy do they?

Okay, I tried booking the hotel today, but I keep getting a strange error. After I select everything it takes me to the "Change your Personal Details" Screen and I make the appropriate changes and then click on Make Change, but then I get an error stating that "Password has not been changed, Please re-enter the password" I was not trying to change my password and I get this after multiple attempts. Anyone else see this before?

Nevermind. I think I am too far out to book right now. I am over the 5 month limitation currently.

I booked our hotel for April 18-19 with my MasterCard with no issues! I booked our hotel at least a month ago, maybe more?

I was finally able to book last night after making a whole new account with a different email address. I called them and they noted they currently have a bug in the system for accounts that were ported over from the US Disney site. Once I did that, I was able to change my personal options, book the room and pay with my US based Mastercard with no problems. I am all set with our room! :)

Hmm interesting... so you were able to pay with MC even though the website now says it won't accept MC issues outside of Japan. Mysterious! Congrats on a smooth booking though. I will be trying to book my room later- fingers crossed!
