Coronado Springs vs. Caribbean Beach

Which of these moderate resorts are better?

I don't think one is better than the other, just depends on personal preference. With that said, we've never stayed at CSR (theme/decor doesn't appeal to us), but we loved everything about CBR. I would look at pics of both resorts and go with the one that appeals to you the most. Good luck :).

I agree with @mickeynut1 It is not that one is better than another. It is personal preference. You should look at pictures and see which theming appeals to you more.
Personally, CBR is the only Mod I will never return to. I just didn't like anything about it.
CSR is a convention resort, and as such, it does have a bit of a more upscale feel. It is also the only Moderate with a spa if that matters to you. Some describe it as Deluxe Lite.
Good Luck

For my family, we prefer CSR over CBR. When we were at CBR it was full of people there for a cheer leading competition. Our room was right outside of their bus stop, which began at 5:00 am. The pool was so crowded it was impossible to find a spot to sit! We didn't like that you must take the internal bus at night to get around.

CSR was more relaxing and we like that they have more food options. We thought the pool was really nice. We have stayed here several times. The only thing I didn't like was how crowded the bus stop from the main building was in the morning. However, I read that they are changing the way buses come into the resort, which should help with this issue. We like to stay in building 7A or 7B.

You will get just as many pick one or the other. One is our favorite moderate, one our least favorite. One is the oldest and one is the newest. One has elevators, one does not.

You have to look at what amenities, themes, size, location, dining etc appeal to you.

As above ^^^^^

Additionally; what do you want from a resort?
Would you utilize extra facilities at csr?
How do you like your room/bathroom layout?
Are you running/walking around the resort?
Are you eating there?
Are you using buses?
Do you go to the resort for downtime?
Or is it simply a room to sleep in?

they each have their positives and negatives...I have never stayed at CSR, but found CBR to be nice. short walk to the bus no matter where your room is...and CSR was always more expensive when we were looking at packages, enough more per night to make the vacation cost several hundred more. I would stay there (there are very few resorts on property I just won't consider) but it never worked out for us.

I agree that one is not better than the other, they are different.

I have stayed at both and like CBR better, but that was personal preference. The amenities were much better at CSR.

This is my dilemma too. Going down with DH, DS,DDIL, 3 DGSs & new grandbaby. DD will also be joining us. 2 rooms at either CBR or CSR. Cannot decide!!!

I've stayed at CBR many times and will be trying CSR for the first time in 2017. I love CBR, the rooms are very nice, the trundle bed is a nice option for kids who want separate sleeping accommodations. I've done a lot of research on CSR and it looks really nice. They are about to start a refurb, which looks great. Not sure when you are going but until the refurb is done, CSR only has one sink in the bathroom area and CBR has two.

For what it's worth, I don't find CBR that large, I know that is a common complaint. The only time I used the internal shuttle was one night when it was a torrential rain. The walk from my standard room was about 5-6 minutes to the food court. I would look at the resorts and pick the one that most appeals to you.

Can you all check your crystal balls & tell me which resort gives me the best option for the extra bed? Although there will only be 4 in each room, that extra bed would be very nice. In my case I see the pro at CBR to be the pool/play area (DGS 5 is a pirate!!) At CSR, the ability to get CS meals poolside is very attractive. That extra bed could be the tipping point!

If you are wanting a room with 2 queens and a Murphy Bed, then of these 2 resorts CBR is the only option. CSR has Suites you can book but they are double to triple the cost of a standard room.

Thanks, that does make the decision easier. We stayed at CBR in 1989, when it was new and we were pretty far out, would certainly ask for a better location this time. Now if I can only get 2 murphy bed rooms!!! Suggestions on the best way to do that? I don't think its a booking category.

The only way to ensure you get a room with a Murphy Bed is if you have 5 in your party. Otherwise it's only a request. Making a room with a Murphy Bed your only request will give you your best chance.

I much prefer CSR.

CSR is actually the third hotel option for Pop Warner now (along with the All Stars and CBR), and has been ever since POR was refurbed with "princess" rooms in the mansions. That said, we stayed at CSR through almost the entirety of Pop Warner earlier this month and had almost no problems except for kids from a single cheer squad cutting in line at Pepper Market--and the food court CMs put a stop to that pretty quickly.

CSR is a similar size to CBR, though. If you're staying in the Ranchos section, it's not uncommon to take the bus to El Centro rather than making the 15 minute walk around the lake. (We've always stayed in the preferred Casitas rooms, but on our last trip last week we finally walked to the far end of Ranchos and were amazed how far it was.)

I haven't heard anything about CSR bus service changing. Theme park buses end their four-stop loop at El Centro and Disney Springs buses start the loop at El Centro to make sure people at outlying stops can make a round trip to El Centro using the on-site buses. In the early morning (i.e. pre-rope drop time), stop 1 (El Centro) is usually crowded with visitors heading to MK who often can't fit on the MK buses since stop 1 is the last stop on the loop before the theme park buses return to the parks. But there's also usually a dispatcher at stop 1, and I've witnessed them multiple times request empty buses serving only stop 1 to take up the slack for MK visitors. (I've been on those buses several times in the morning after not making it onto the regular buses completing their on-site loops.)

If you want to "guarantee" murphy beds, I think your only choice is to stay in Alligator Bayou at Port Orleans Riverside. However, I could be wrong and maybe not all of those rooms have murphy beds. We have stayed at once at POR and CBR with 3 people. We have always gotten a murphy bed without the request. We actually didn't really want one.

I've only stayed at CSR, but 3 times and loved it all 3 times. Resort is pretty, pool is nice, food options good.

Like many people have stated, it is all personal preference. With that said, I much prefer CSR over CBR.

I like the layout and the amenities offered by CSR. I also like all of the dining options and the layout of the main building and I personally had a much better overall experience at this resort.

At CBR I really dislike that guest relations is in one building and then in a completely separate building on the opposite side of the resort is the dining area and wdw store. If I need to speak with someone at guest relations I would rather do it in the morning when I get up for breakfast at the marketplace and do everything in one shot and then hop on a bus right to the park, where at CBR that is not possible. I just feel that it is really inconvenient having it all separated. Also, while the pool and jacuzzis are very nice, we had a negative experience with lifeguards closing the main pool/jacuzzi 30 minutes before scheduled pool closing because there weren't very many people in the pool and they wanted to get started on their closing cleaning list. Which really irked me considering we had just spent all day walking in the parks and just wanted to relax in the hot tub for 15 minutes before bed.
