DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

well, I'm doing the relay. a team of 5 running approx. 10 miles each. but. Last time I ran was over a week ago and I limped and panted through 3 miles.

In other news, the mighty USPS says our Magic Bands will be in the mailbox today for next month's trip. I tried to cancel my birthday this year, but I'll accept my new age as long as it comes with Magic Bands. Between the recent trips, work not slowing down at all with the temps climbing back up into the 80's this week, and the other vagaries of life, I'm looking forward to checking out of reality for 10 days prior to Thanksgiving.

10 days sounds fun. I've never had that many consecutive vacation days away from home.

I'd be good with that. One way or another, somebody's curse will end.

That's what I was thinking. Cubs aren't there yet, but it would be a great story.

10 miles? :scared1::eek::scared:

That's why I play tennis. One half of the court is 39' long and 36' (doubles). 27' (?) for singles.

Last time I ran I limped and panted through 3 yards.

::yes:: :lmao:

Happy Friday All!

Forecast here is for barrels of rain for the next 36 hours; and that is why I didn't bother with that car wash yesterday!

Guys.

I'm stressed. I signed up for this beast in April. Just getting over a sickness so I haven't ran in over a week.

Always a good time though. this will be my 5th year. If you ever want a fun way of seeing Door County, WI.

Good luck. Is your section all trail/wilderness running?

Last time I ran I limped and panted through 3 yards.

But were you vertical?

Morning Guys.

Just had some breaking news come across my Twitter feed. Apparently the Blue Jays announced they will not accept the results of the ALCS. They are planing on travelling to Cleveland for game 6 on Friday.

Now that was funny.

Happy Thursday. It's raining here, or more like flash monsoon rain. :sad2:

Good news is that the pipe was fixed by 5 PM. The lead worker even admitted they broke open the pipe during the dig. It shouldn't have been that difficult to get them to fix the issue. Bad news is that I still have a giant hole in the front yard. I doubt they will fill it in today in the rain, but they will eventually.

Sucks you have to put up with this all because of their incompetence, Hope they get right.

Morning gents. Was able to get out of be in less than 5 minutes this morning, so... improvement.

Wishing you a continued improvement.

Never thought about seeing Door County, WI. If I did I would probably just drive. Good luck in the run.

Happy Friday. It is a bitterly cold 52 degrees here today. The extended forecast low 70s next week. Looks like outdoor tennis season is over.

The hole is still there. I'll probably have to hound them again to get it repaired. But, we still have plumbing and I'm thankful for that.

6 down 5 to go GO CUBS!

Kershaw vs Hendricks. Should be a good game.

Stop sneaking peaks at me when I'm limping.
.

Just what is he peaking at? :scared1::eek::scared1:

I'm seeing all this love for the Cubs... I consider myself a baseball fan. I love watching baseball all summer and there's nothing quite like the playoff baseball atmosphere.

But is it bad that I haven't watch any of the games this post season?

None.

I've caught an inning here or there. But that's it.

I just can't.

I'm not a Cubs fan, and I'm surrounded by them. It isn't that I hate the Cubs passionately enough that I actively want to root against them. I actually like Maddon and I like some of the young talent on that team. But I just can't root for the Cubs either.

I feel like this really could be their year. Which would probably be good for baseball. But I just don't really care. Maybe it is sour grapes because my team is in middle of a brutal rebuild, but I just don't care.

Now if the Dodgers knock them off or Rick Vaughn returns to Cleveland, I might jump back in and trash talk all the Cubs fans I know and jump on the Tribe's bandwagon. But otherwise... meh...

Low 70s is too cold!

Well, it hits 70 around 2:00 PM. By 6:00 PM, it is dark and in the 50s. Too cold for tennis.

I doubt Wild Thing will make an appearance, but my favorite radio quote call is still "just a bit outside!"

A lifelong KY resident, we have no pro team other than UK basketball. :lmao:

So, I never really had a home team to be fanatical about. We got NL central on the TV and remember watching Reds, Cardinals, Cubs mostly. I've seen Reds games in Cincinnati. So, I'll cheer for a NL central team to win the World Series.

Lights and a sweater.

If they do have him throw out the first pitch I think they should bring him in from the bullpen with the music blaring.

Morning fellas. A cooler day today as temps dropped from the upper 70s yesterday to upper 50s today. I'm ready for fall. Smoked 18 pounds of pork last night for pulled pork. Took nearly 16 hours. I had planned to spend some time by the fire for awhile, but the rain changed those plans. Thankfully, the smoker runs fine in the shed so the weather is not an issue.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Afternoon boys, from sunny London. Coming home from the game, we won 1-0 with the last kick. 4 beers in already. Could be a long evening. Over and out.

Oh yeah, and
GO CUBS!!!!!!

Morning all. Been to the gym, washed some clothes, bread in the oven, and watching futbal and football now. UL football is amazing to watch this year with QB Lamar Jackson.

Lights and a sweater.
.

Lights are there. Too cold for tennis balls.

I've got Liverpool V West Brom right now. Anyone I should cheer for to effect the outcome of the match?

Morning gents.
Made scrambled eggs, pan fries and toast for the family this morning.... and then had to lie down afterwards.
Guess the back isn't quite ready for prime time yet.
