Pluto's "Dog Days of Summer" Exercise Challenge

Happy Wednesday!!

30 minutes for me since my last post, and I'm one of two color changes today:

:car: PollyannaMom

Our "Other Pluto" fact of the day concerns the different in gravity:

pluto: If you weigh 100 lbs, your weight on Pluto would be 7 lbs. (multiply your actual weight by .067).

I guess all our exercise has really paid off!

Haven't posted in a week- I've been walking a lot, running a bit, and nothing else.

50 minute walk last Wednesday
33 minute walk on the beach last Thursday
27 minutes yoga on Friday

Headed up to Boston for the weekend for my sister's wedding, even with all the activities, I was up early enough in the morning to get in some minutes / miles. It was a very active weekend with lots of short walks, but I'm just going to count the 2 mornings I went out to exercise.

74 minutes on Saturday - I walked down to the Charles River Esplanade and went for a run/walk. I'm adjusting my time to subtract out all the time i spent stopping to take photos and catch Pokemon. ( I caught a lot of new to me pokemon in Boston!!!)

42 minutes on Sunday - Walked to the Boston Public Garden and wandered around taking photos, walked back along Commonwealth mall.

Rest day on Monday

35 minute walk last night

70 minute run/walk tonight

795/800 I'm doing a lot better than I expected this month!!!

Three new color changes, including another green!! -

20 minutes for me,

and our "Other Pluto" trivia for today:

pluto: Pluto’s journey around the Sun takes 248 Earth years. This means that, since its discovery in 1930, it still has over 160 years to go until it has made a complete orbit around the Sun.

I really have to do better with the updates!

Mon - 78 walking and upper body
Tue - 67 lower body
Wed - 77 Pilates and cardio

No new color changes this morning, but the team is at 89%. - We only need 157 minutes to hit red!!

(And there are a couple of individual team members within 20 minutes of their next color/goal as well!)

Pluto's "Other Pluto" trivia for the day is:

pluto: Pluto has four identified moons, Charon, the largest, is not much smaller than Pluto itself. (Pluto is 2,280 kilometers wide, Charon is 1,212 kilometers wide). The other 3 are Nix, Hydra, and newly discovered S/2011 P 1 on July of 2011.

P.S. - That last one has a "regular" name now - Kerberos.

We've made it to the weekend!!! :cheer2:

:bounce: Saphire5742 :bounce: has made it to green!!!

And :car: Team August has made it to red!!!

pluto: Pluto was discovered on February 18th, 1930 - by astronomer Clyde W. Tombaugh at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. The existence of an unknown ninth planet had first been proposed by Percival Lowell, who theorized that wobbles in the orbits of Uranus and Neptune were caused by the gravitational pull of an unknown planetary body. (from This Day in History)

Uncle Sam Host Wanted.jpg

It's also "that time" again. - The group will be needing a September host/cheerleader. Official duties are recording goals and keeping track of color changes. (Theming is optional, but a great way to have fun with it!) So tap into your creativity and volunteer spirit, and sign up today!!

Only a couple of posts yesterday (folks must be having a busy weekend) so no color changes to report this morning. But the team total stands at 16,561 ---- 91% of goal!

We have 1,664 minutes to get to green, and four days to do it ---- so that's 416 team minutes a day. (We've had plenty of days higher, so we can do it!! :cheer2: )

pluto: For today, Pluto has some information on “New Horizons” - the current NASA mission studying his favorite thing in space:
