If we head to RSR @ rope drop, how long will standby likely be?

We are going on Tuesday and plan to be in line by 7:30 am. We are thinking our young boys will want to ride RSR twice so thought we could hurry over there first and grab fast passes for later. How quickly does the line build? Will we have a good chance to get a small wait time?

How does this plan sound for the morning? While dh takes the kids on RSR, I will get Frozen fast passes and then RSR fps. Then we will do TSMM and Screamin. I'm not sure whether we should then do Maters and Luigis or Bugs Land. We have a 4 yr old that would love a couple of those rides. When the RSR fp time comes up, I thought I'd get Soarin fp, ride RSR, then Tower of Terror.

The Frozen FP isn't connected and I hear the line can take awhile.
I'd go for RSR's FP since your next FP will be timed off of that one.

Normally the standby line quickly jumps to a 45-minute wait and climbs from there, so they'll have to be quick to jump in line ASAP.

I agree with PP that you should grab the RSR FPs first since they'll determine the timing of your next one.

RSR at night is very cool if the little ones are ok with it. We like to hold off on getting the RSR FP until the evening times come up.

We visited on an EMH Wednesday in mid May. We were about 15 - 20 people back at the entrance and a few rows back at rope drop. We walked on to RSR with no wait. It seemed like lots of fast-walking folks were passing us on the road through Radiator Springs but we were pleasantly surprised for sure! Have a wonderful trip!

Our plan for RSR first thing in the morning is the single rider line. We usually ride it 5 or 6 times with only about a 10 minute wait for the next ride.

I'm hoping to get an evening FP too - how long does it take to get to the evening passes usually?
Midweek it might be 10-11 before you get a 7pm FP, it might also be 9 am depending on crowds. This is one of those things where you kind of have to linger a bit to see how fast they are going. But if could fit in as you are moving back and forth through the park.

There is the guy aiming for 10,000 rides.

He said the most he's done in a day was 49. This was something he undertook after he decided to lose weight. Apparently hey know him so well that he's attended a wedding of a CM, and he's even been allowed to ride a few rides after hours with CMs (cleared with management).

Yeah but the OP mentioned little kids. Gotta be 7 or older for SR line and most people don't call their 7 and up year olds little kids.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We are here today and dh and kids were able to get right on RSR with just a couple min wait after rope drop. I grabbed Soarin and Frozen fast passes....got first show orchestra. Then we did TSMM with about a 15 min wait followed by dh taking our 4 yr old on the carousel while I and the older kids did Screamin with about a 5-10 min wait.

I had planned on trying to get fp for RSR when evening times were available but couldn't time it right bc of being at frozen at 10:20. By the time we got out of the show at 12:30, RSR fp were gone. But that's ok bc we had amazing orchestra seats in the middle about 6 rows back. It was so good! We can do RSR again Thurs.

It sounds like y'all did great! Our morning strategy is similar to yours. We are hoping for a FP for a night time ride on RSR, too. I have it in our plan to snag at 12pm. We'll see if it happens for us or not!
