DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Man is it hot here. Staying inside watching the Marlins game. They are playing well and are fun to watch again. Have to go to a game or two this year.

Tonight 8pm on Discovery is a show called Tiger Beach. It shows the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science where she will be going to and one of the guys she will be working with in grad school. She did something similar when they tagged sharks off of Miami. No diving with them though. Today she is snorkeling in Hawaii with a shark research group. Hope to have some pictures.

I'm the same CJ. Will be watching the US elections, as US politics was my major at uni. We are all shocked, and London had a weird feel today, as no-one thought this would happen. But hey ho. We all have to move on.

Cool, I am a Political Science major myself. I can imaging things were a little bit odd the day after. Lots of regret going around. Also, I am not a fan of Farage.

First, we had two jacka$$ players on our team flake out and not show up.

That sucks. Why would people do that?

Evening gents. Working graveyard shift for tonight and tomorrow.
We'll see how alive I am after that...

Good luck.

Oldest DD just got hired as a cashier at the local supermarket for the summer. And the best part is she gets a 10% employee discount. Hello prime rib!

And at a perfect time for summer grilling.

Guess which Dad woke up at 5:00 AM on a Sunday Morning and scored an 8:00 AM reservation at CRT for Christmas Day?!

This Dad!

The things we do for our families!

Whoa, You Da Man! Excellent snag.

Yep! I was torn, I was thinking we could do BoG for Christmas Breakfast (pre rope drop) as it would only cost 1 QS, but SWMBO really wanted us to do CRT.

Now I need to figure out how to get started on my Pre Trip report!

Morning Guys, it is the weekend yet?

Made it back from DS's basketball tournament yesterday afternoon. They went 1-2, played 2 good games and one not so much. Unfortunately the not so much game was the last one and I think practices may be a bit tougher this week. Luckily for them school is done so they can get some rest.

Played soccer last night and I didn't put the ball in our net.

Short week this week as Friday is Canada Day.

Have a good one all.

Rant over. Anyway, 52 days till WDW!!!

Didn't you hear? WDW voted to exit from the theme park business.

Man is it hot here.

Not quite the same here. Got called in to work this morning. Checked the forecast... no rain. Hopped on the bike and rode. Hmmm... hands cold. Get to work, check the temp.... 9C/48F.

Gotta try to remember that when I get home and set the PVR.

Good luck.

Didn't make it. At least it felt that way.

Score! You da man!

Morning Guys, it is the weekend yet?

Yes!

Oh... wait....

no.

Played soccer last night and I didn't put the ball in our net.

A vast improvement over your performance of late!

Short week this week as Friday is Canada Day.

Not for me. Gotta work Friday.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Take DS to National TSA competition later today (it's in Nashville) then batchin it the next 3 days.

Great snag and well done Dad! Will be doing the same at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday morning for our Holiday trip. Though, the lame / lack of accurate park hours is making ADR's a royal PITA.

Sometimes teams can use that get your head handed to you followed up by tough practice to get better. Glad to hear now own goal this week.

Happy Monday and back in the office for two weeks. Cleared my inbox this AM about 10:00 AM and am done for the week. Heading home shortly.

Feels like it. 4 hours of crappy sleep will do that.

I'm fairly steady at 8 hours, and changes really mess with me. Hope you recover.

Nice beating Naegle. Take today off and have the family take care of Dad.

Thanks. Went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and loaded up on chicken fried chicken. Still had to drive home, but it was a fun weekend.

Again thanks for the good vibes bud. Absolutely. Most people who I have spoken to (or chastised) for voting out are having a huge wave of buyer's remorse. The Out campaign doesn't even have a plan. The three main campaign promises have been either watered down or walked away from. I have truly never seen anything like this.
It is populism at its absolute worst, and I never thought it would happen in this country.

Rant over. Anyway, 52 days till WDW!!!

And i thought the Brits would be smarter than our electorate.

Missed the show and hope you post some pictures. I wish I had found a career playing tennis as opposed to this office time.

Great get. I really like CRT Breakfast stuffed French Toast. Not sure if it still on menu though. I imagine Christmas Day will be crowded.

Played soccer last night and I didn't put the ball in our net.
.

Tough loss for DS. Seems like the last games, especially the losses, are the ones we remember most.

As for soccer, were you out there with Messi last night? He couldn't put the ball in any net. :sad2:

Is it Monday already? I need someone to warn me on Sunday.

Re-started training for 5K, 10K runs with DD on Friday. We are up to the 3.2 at around 11 minutes per mile. Pretty good for only a few days and having not exercised/consistently trained for well over 2 years. We started earlier, but an injury and our schedule just made it impossible. Of course, my hamstrings are killing me and I have pains in places no one wants them. Next step is a chiropractor to check my alignment as there is clearly something off based on how I feel and I should have done it right after the knee surgery and physical therapy.

Cool, I am a Political Science major myself.

Well that explains a lot.:rolleyes1

No, not the weekend yet.

DS varsity got pretty much hammered last week. DS is 5'11" and had to play vs. a 6'6" guy the whole game. Needless to say it was a tough match up. The team as a whole did not play well as they were missing a couple of good players.

Happy Canada Day!

That sounds AWESOME. Does Jasmine wear a Santa's Pixie Outfit?

If you are running, it might be worth going to a proper running shoes store for them to check your gait and style. It really worked for me.
And i thought the Brits would be smarter than our electorate.

Oh no, I think people are looking for someone to blame, and there are politicians all over ready to point the finger. I wouldn't be surprised if another country bolts.

Didn't you hear? WDW voted to exit from the theme park business
Did they immediately regret it?

Thanks. Went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and loaded up on chicken fried chicken

In all my visits to your fine country (up to number 27) I have never seen or been in a cracker barrel. Chickens frying chickens? Its amazing what they can get animals to do these days.

Morning all. Played tennis again last night and looks like I'll settle in about 4 times a week. I was fully recovered, or at least recovered to what I would normally could be. :lmao:

Today, my youngest turns 12, which means we'll do a birthday dinner tonite followed by a sleepover some weekend. We don't just celebrate a birthday once here for some reason (that reason being DW).

Congrats on beating the Pro. (Do they still call Jet QBs pros?)

And NCAA Div I athlete. That may be more impressive than Jets. :lmao:

I think I did, thanks.

Good. Now get back to work. Wait, you probably are. :sad2:

Tough match up for DS, and keep up the training. I still have a long way to go to get my weight back under control. But, I am happy to have improved enough to compete at tennis.

I tried that KT tape for my foot (plantar fasciitis) and it works as well as anything else I used. It is also lighter than anything else.

That sounds AWESOME. Does Jasmine wear a Santa's Pixie Outfit?

That's at the Magic Castle strip club down the street. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Yeah, our language is as tricky as all those CanUadaUain Us.

Chicken fried chicken is taking a chicken breast, flatten in out, roll in batter, deep fat fry it, and cover it in milk gravy. Milk gravy is made by adding flour to liquid fat or lard, pouring in milk to get consistency, and add seasoning. Anyone have any idea why obesity is so in Murica? :lmao:

Sigh.. Back to the grind. Took a Monday off to paint and remodel two of my daughters rooms. With my wife home all summer, it seems to be way more work for me. :)

Tell me this is a real thing, I can't google it at work. Is there a buffet? :santa: :love1:

With ya so far.....

Milk gravy is made by adding flour to liquid fat or lard, pouring in milk to get consistency, and add seasoning

So like a glass of cooking fat? With Milk? Hopefully it's 1%, which would make it far more healthy.

Tuesdays are waaaayy better than Mondays. We got our butts kicked in softball last night, but all the walking and jogging has really helped with my ability to play.

If you are running, it might be worth going to a proper running shoes store for them to check your gait and style. It really worked for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. On my list once I get everything back in line. As much as I can feel that things are not right, just getting the work outs in has everything feeling a lot better.

Please send along Happy Birthday from myself and family.party: One more year before the teen years hit. Good luck.

We started a similar process of a birthday meal, then family party, then sleep over/movies. Now we just do the sleep over/movies in one night as it was starting to get crazy on our already insane schedule.:faint::faint: Have you ever seen a crazy insane schedule. It's not pretty. Enjoy the special dinner.

Sigh.. Back to the grind. Took a Monday off to paint and remodel two of my daughters rooms. With my wife home all summer, it seems to be way more work for me. :)

Next week is remodel time for DS room. He is leaving Saturday to complete a mission in Mississippi and we plan to have everything done before he returns. It looks like gray walls (Celtics uniform Gray), new bed and furniture and I'm shopping on line this week for something cool to add to the walls. Of course nothing I pick will be cool for a 16 year old, but he's leaving for college in 2 years so who cares what he thinks.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Happy birthday to DD and enjoy the multi-day celebration. We do / did that in our house too so enjoy them as before you know it they will be away at college on their birthdays :(
